Hi
I already have the Fiberglass Speciality cowl , ( I have both ) . The fiberglass one is a better choice for detail . I think my ABS cowl is well constructed . I was also told the Topflite cowl is pure crap , with so many pieces . I beg to differ . ( as you can see from the pic )
It,s a matter of personal choice Just my thoughts .

Looks like my first posts in this thread were in November 2011 when I acquired a partially built kit. It's still partially built.
Time to call a spade a spade and admit I'm not going to finish this kit. I have plenty of planes to fly and no so much a passion for building and finishing these days, so if anyone is looking for a project to complete in the Southeast let me know. I won't spam this thread with details, so just PM me if you might have questions. I'm in southern Alabama.

I have a short kit I made still sitting on a shelf. Haven't even finished the .60 sized one, just need to put the canopy on and figure out a way to charge the batteries without looking obtrusive on the outside.
TIME
Lack thereof.
Too much to do, so little time.

What size prop hub are you guys using on this Corsair, and what brand are you using? I see Tru Turn are no longer producing spinners/hub, the Top Flite is no longer made, but I did find prop hubs sold by Valley View RC and the Harry Higley hubs.
It's a bit depressing that these warbird kits are no longer produced. When I bought the Corsair kit, I decided to wait on buying the cockpit kit and prop hub. Now it's too late for they are no longer produced.

You may get lucky and find one for sale on the web. Good luck!

retracts, cowl and canopy
I have a set of Robart electric retracts, main and tail wheel that were mounted but never used for sale. I also have as part of the deal a fiberglass cowl and the original canopy from the kit, never taken out of the tissue paper except for a picture. Check out RC Groups or Flying Giants classifieds.

Successful Maiden!!! TF F4U Corsair GS with a Saito FA-325R5 swinging a 20x8 prop. This thing drinks like a fish, 75cc/min 😂!. Good thing I calculated it before hand and set a landing timer

I'm gonna sell a kit. Any interest? TF Corsair 1/5th scale
Hey, all!
Just gonna throw out here that I have an original (not re-release, not ARF), factory-sealed kit for this airplane that I'm going to sell. I have tons of parts, including fuel system, Robart retracts (full set with accessories) Stan's cowl (pre-fibertech!), scale wheels, cockpit kit, all of it. I'm posting here to see if there's interest. I have another that I've been flying on and off for years (with the US-41 engine!) and I have a P-51 that's flying like a bat outta hell with a Desert Aircraft DA-50R, and do not foresee building this one. Let me know if there's interest. Y'all's builds look great!

1) if you haven’t sheeted the wings yet, beef up the gear mount points along the ribs and main spar
2) make sure your flaps extend evenly and symmetrically, or they’ll give you fits on approach.
3) you don’t need to overpower it. I’m running the US-41 with an 18/10 wood prop and it flies really nicely.
4) good high-torque servos, even for the throttle.
I don’t know yet how to price it, but as stated, all the major components for a good build are there. You’d be in the hook for hinges, pushrods, small hardware, etc.
Save a little weight? Monokote the flying surfaces and glass the fuse.
I’ll figure out the price soon. It’ll be for the whole package. I don’t want to part it all out if I can help it.

Is anyone having good experience with a DLE 65 in this plane. I’ve heard vibration issues from some people using this engine. Is the DLE 61 a better option for a better balance between power and vibration
