My pull start on my xp works great... when it works. Lately when i pull the cord it catches 1 or 2 times. Never had a prob. before and is there an easy fix to this?

RE: Pullstart ?
One way bearing, my does the same thing, the cold causes it not to function correctly. It works fine when the motor is warm! I believe ehroof has a bandaid fix somewhere in one of these threads!

RE: Pullstart ?
take off the pull start, take off the backplate and the one way bearing, clean with carb cleaner and put it back in, will work for a while or for good, depends on the fuel your using, traxxas top fuel and a few others have alot of oil and cause the one way bearing to slip.

Getting rid of the pull start and installing a roto won't solve his one way bearing problem, it stays put.

RE: Pullstart ?
I guess I've just personally had some issues, well not some, actually just one big one, with the stock pullstart, I upgraded to roto, but I would imagine their are better pull starts out there if you like them.

RE: Pullstart ?
Yes... The one way bearing is on the inside of the backplate. 4 screws take off the pullstarter, 4 more take off the backplate. You don't have to remove the backplate to put a rotostart on.
Ah Yes, I was playing ice hockey a few months ago and took a slapshot from the point. A fraction of a second before I hit the puck, I got hit from the side causing my stick to hit the ice early. Apparently the torque was enough to do a number on my rotator cuff. Rehab for now, I want to avoid the surgery.

Is this correct, I never seen a roto start or a back plate for them, I just bought one from Clermont though! I hope he has lightning fast shipping!

RE: Pullstart ?
So I had a problem with the pull-start I got from Redcat. It was for my Volcan SV/ VX.18 the pull-start had the right bolt pattern but the cut out for the OW was way too small! So I called Redcat and they are supper cool! He said he had not seen this but would look into it. They sent me a new OW and a new pull-start and now that i have both of them here I see that the 1st pull-start they sent did have too small of a cut out for the OW and as far as i can tell the two pull-starts are the same in every other way so i hope someone from Redcat will see this and sort out the problem? I would say that there manufacturer has made some off a bad mold? and this may be a hard fix for them because neither pull-start had a part # on it? Well I hope no-one else gets the wrong one. I'm off to do some bashing!!!!!!
