old fuel, worst idelinG?
hello. I know that when fuel loses octane, it becomes much easier to predetonate. does it react on ideling settings? I think I have to buy it in much lower quantities to prevent it from going old.

How do you think it looses octane?
At idle, octane is no isue. Compression ratio is, due to mecanical consequences, but idle is not octane dependant because of the severe dilution of the charge with residue exhaust gas, which BTW creates blue burn conditions.

Hello I use a product called "Sta-bil" it is a gasoline stabilizer, and it works for up to 2 years. Tested it this way. You can get it at Wal-Mart, and auto parts stores.

If you plan on keeping fuel long term, either buy non oxygenated or less quantities.

today I bought fresh gas and it ideled much better I think my fuel has lost octane in few months. if u know, as high is octane, as less predetonation oqquers in sport car tuned engines. I think thst's why it reacts on ideling stability.

It has not lost octane, but id did loose a lot of the more volatile fractions. Old gas has had much time to loose the easily evaporating stuf, and a good mixture is now harder to achieve inside the carb. Because the lack of the easily evaporated stuff, the mixture also gets leaner, and is harder to ignite. More raw fuel will enter the cylinder.
