The cockpit from inzpan is amazing! did you use the 1/5 or the 1/4 because i would use the full kit for the c-arf mustang.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Nice going Gary! Always good to see others building this kit! I'm trying to chronicle the building of mine on my website (www.composite-arf.co.uk)
Any major headaches so far or things to warn me about?
btw, what size tailwheel are you using/planning on using?? I have received my cockpit kit today and I am VERY impressed with it....amazing value at the equivalent of $60 too!!!
Thanks,
Mark

I hope to proceed soon with more of my build. I am still at the point of deciding what power plant to use.
I want to ensure the exaust and muffler are contained within the airframe for this bird. Still not to sure on the DA 85 or not. Have no clue as to what exaust will fit with the DA 85.
Any input and assistance would be appreciated.

Did some work on the fuselage this afternoon. I figured I would go ahead and fill the glass joining areas. taped them off then applied the filler. Wet sanded it and removed the tape. It turned out well for the first filling. More will be done after primer is applied. I also gave the fuselage a complete sanding with 400 wet paper. WOW the details pop right out after it was sanded. I will still sand later with 400 paper using acetone to make sure all mold release is gone before priming.

Did some more cutting on the fuselage.
Have the scoop front and the inside piece cutout, as well as the cockpit area.
The front windscreen has also been cleaned out. I sure love the mustang profile.

Thanks Gary. Has been fun to slowely plug along with the small pieces.
Cut out the exhaust openings on the cowl. I want to get most of the glass sanding and cutting done prior to the cold weather. Outside is the best place to do this.

Looks good Mustang 41.
I am venturing to the wing mounting. I have attached the 1/8th ply plates to the fuselage sides as well as the front mounting plate in the fuselage. I am just figuring out where to put the holes in the wing to attach it to the fuselage. Once the front and rear bolts are in, I will use the 2 carbon fibre shafts for the front of the wing where it attaches to the fuselage. Did you use this method as well just for extra support?
I am doing a camouflage scheme on this P-51. It will be a mark IV. "Canadian" of course 442 squadron.

I think it's a more low power for the comp p51(in first i mount a zenoah 62)
a simple DLE55 with a canister but i think it's ok for a lite contruction (15 kgs)
I want to build my p51 with cheap but serious material (money, money)
servos S3305 futaba for all function ,Mpx power mc for rudder
sevos S3801 futaba for flap

After several hours of measuring....drilling, the wing is mounted. Lots of work!!!
Have the front temporarily done, but the main attachment is done. Put a few drops of CA to hold the wooden blocks. I will do the upright supports with hysol which will tie it all in nice and strong to the fuselage.
I also still need to make the wood pieces and insert the blind nuts into the front portion.

hi gary 9648..
well - we going int direction "hod-rod" . . . no comparison to the zg62 or less - setup.
And - we have here a 1/4 Me 109 with 90ccm twin-inline and gear 2:1 . . - thats really ok. since three years.
The weight dosen't matter - if you have expirience in flying that kind of model. thats no problem.
And the lightweight - models with that butterfly in the wind -flying -style. . .this is not what i want to see. (for me)

The wing mounting supports on the fuselage side are now in, as well as the blind nuts for the front wing mounting bolts.

There have been a few issues with regards to finding the hinge locations for the flaps. I decided to sand the silver off the trailing edge to reveal the exact hard points for the hinge locations. This will be painted over so I figured that this would be the best way to find the hard points.
