Default What is the Max amperage for charging?

I'm charging my Lipo's (11.1v 1800Mah 20c) with a Sky Charger B6AC and it will let me adjust the charging amp's from .1 to 5.0.
Can I charge at 5 amps and is it safe?

No, I would'nt charge at 5 amps.

Always charge at 1C which would be 1.8 amps with your pack.

Have you researched to dangers with lipos? Sometime just catch fire while being charged or just stored. Never charge battery while it's sitting on a flammable surface... Wait, I'll just do some do's and dont's

Do's
Charge on non flammable surface
Say near battery while charging
Charge at 1C (mAh = charge/discharge rate, 2000 mAh = 2.0 amps)
Store in fire proof container < Important!
Use a good balance charger
Let the battery "rest" and cool off a little bit before charging

Dont's -
NEVER discharge below 3 volts per cell (9 volts total for 11.1 3s)
Drop battery
Using or charging a battery that has "puffed" up
Store fully charged or fully depleted
Charge a HOT battery

I know there is more, just cant think of them. Scoot

I did a little research but just couldn't find anything about charging..... Finally found a video that said 1 amp per 1000Mah.
I DIDN'T read anything about them spontaniously catching fire when stored!?!?

Obviously they are semi-safe as long as you follow the guidelines or they wouldn't sell them. Just like using Nitro with a little common sense.

 • Store and charge Li-Poly battery in a fireproof container.
 • Never attempt to charge a cell with physical damage.
 • Always use chargers designed for lithium polymer battery ONLY.
 • If battery temperature exceeds 50C (122F), terminate charging.
 • Charge with Thermal Protection charger is recommended.
 • Maximum charge current at 1.05 Amp(1C).
 • Do not charge battery unattended and overnight.
 • Do not heat or throw battery into a fire.
 • Do not short circuit the (+) and (&ndash terminals with metal object.
 • Do not use or store battery close to fire or inside the car where temperature may be over 60°C.
 • Do not immerse in, or apply fresh seawater to battery.
 • Do not put batteries in your pockets or a bag together with metal objects such as necklaces, hairpins, coins, or screws. Do not store batteries with such objects.
 • Do not pierce battery with a sharp object such as a nail.
 • Do not hit with a hammer, step on, throw or drop to cause strong shock.
 • Do not disassemble or modify the battery.
 • Charge with a balancer/connector ONLY.
 • Each cell does not charge over 4.25V, otherwise battery may catch fire.
