I purchased a used IMAC plane and the seller gave me the program from his 18MZ. I loaded the file onto my CF card then transferred it to the TX, selected it then turned off the TX. It will not start up normally now.

Any suggestions on how to get past this will be gratefully appreciated.

I got the radio to boot again.

Maybe the 18MZ program is not as compatible as I thought. At least I can use the radio again. If anyone can comment on backward compatibility or conversion of 18MZ program to 14MZ I'd be pleased to learn about it.

You cannot transfer models from the 18MZ to the 14MZ. That's because the 18MZ format is different-enough that the 14MZ cannot use it. However, model files from the 14MZ will transfer to the 18MZ.

I know it's an old thread, but can anybody confirm,
14 mz models will transfer to 18 mz without problems ?

You can load a 14MZ model onto an 18MZ without any issues, You cannot go the other way, from an 18MZ to a 14MZ.

You will need to take the 14MZ file from the 14MZ using the CF card, then get it onto the SD card type that the 18MZ uses.
