BAX CAN YOU HELP???
This is about as valid a support question as we can get and I think it demands and answer.
After shelling out $400 on a module for my 12z, am I going to be held up for software?
Thank you.

It's the holidays. Give him a break. Wait until after the new year.... And then be nicer.

Yea I realize that. Unfortunately he seems to be the only connection to Futaba for us. As far as being nice, it would be nice if the module works when I plug it in..... ya think? $400??? There certainly is no holiday holdup in taking our cash and shipping them out.
His last post on here was 12/20/07 10 days ago. I guess it would be too much to ask if anyone else in the world has any knowledge about this except for him on this support only forum????
He is also the sole spokesman at Futaba Flyers Club
I toned down the header

RE: HELLOOOO BAX CAN YOU HERE US NOW?
My hope is this... I hope he is away from his desk having turkey and ham leftovers with his friends and family. Hopefully he is in Hawaii for two weeks with someone special. Hopefully he is playing with his kids/grandkids and flying airplanes with his local club or flying electrics in the park. After all, I would like my product support person to actually participate and enjoy the hobby.
My fear is that the FASST module was released to get it out before the Christmas "giving" without the required TX firmware update. If that is the case, my guess is that there is a full-on panic at Futaba/Great Panes and he is not having much of a holiday.
In ether event, we probably won't get an answer until the new year.
Still, I understand your question and frustration. I also have a 14MZ and look forward to the 2.4 Futaba systems. Of course you are completely correct in that, it is wholly unacceptable to take modelers money for the purpose of releasing this before Christmas. It, of course, is not unprecedented. Every day that goes by that the FASST system is NOT released is another day modelers buy brand-X's. A lot of money will be spent over the Christmas holiday that could be spent on a neat (Futaba) hobby upgrade. Further, it gets harder to sell a $400.00 anything in January and February when the holiday credit card bills roll in. Hey, it's business. I sometimes feel for Bax and folks in his possition at the tip of the customer-support-spear having to deal with other's economic decisions.

RE: BAX CAN YOU HELP???
Let's lighten up and have a happy holiday!
I hope the Futaba crew is having a few days off and enjoying them!
I to am waiting for the modules, but I am not getting my undies tied in a knot. Mine is held up in between shipping docks.
I also bought a mejzlik27x10 prop from a dealer and paid 3 day shipping only to get a auto reply email back they are closed till wed.
Yes I checked but I am not going to persue further, patience is a virtue in this hobby. How many days could you not go fly because of
something beyond your control? Weather (rain-wind-snow, etc), the honey to do list and other things. Ewveryone deserves a holiday.
The sw is out on the site for the 12 but not the 14, Krysta replied they are trying to get multiple sites running for the people
to download firmware it just is bad timing with the holidays.
Happy New Year!!

OK I didn't know that. In that case I apologize to the manager of Hobby Services
Is there a paid support/spokesman for Futaba?

RE: BAX CAN YOU HELP???
It would have been so so nice and customer orientated if Futaba would have issued their new upgrade-software for download on their internet page same time when they shipped the TM14 modules.
regards
Jürgen
Happy holidays and be safe !

They say be patient. It's not about patience. It's about ethical business practice. You don't take somebodies money and ship them a product that intentionally is NOT usable in any form. I don't care if it's for 1 hour.........
UNLESS you tell them up front what you are doing and the customer THAN purchases the product.
So all I ask is to know from FUTABA is why they shipped unusable product without notifying the customers of their intentions.
Some here might say this is an unreasonable request?

RE: BAX CAN YOU HELP???
GENTLEMEN!! Please remember that this forum is NOT a Discussion Forum.
I locked this as there were numerous posts going back and forth on this topic. This is a Futaba Support forum, it is for questions for Bax and I to answer, please try to remember this.
As for your question.
There are software upgrades required of the 12FG, 12Z and 14MZ to be able to utilize the 2.4GHz modules...these will be posted BOTH on the Futaba Flyers Club website, and the Futaba 2.4GHz website.
Unfortunately, due to the Holidays, they are not on these sites. These will be posted on BOTH sites as quickly as possible after the holidays and everyone returns to work.
Thank you for your patience in this matter.
Sincerely,
Krysta
