Just blinking green led, I've tried everything possible, it seems to blink green for ever please tell me what to do.

We would suggest you contact your Distributor in your country.

Your transmitter may have the Zero code issue per our Advisory:

http://2.4gigahertz.com/techsupport/...m7-7c-6ex.html

If this was purchased here in the United States, you would need to contact our Service department at [email protected].

KRISTA, hello

I have a question regarding my R617FS receiver.

I installed the radio and had several flights on it and last week I lost control of my throttle.

I was at full throttle and couldn't throttle back, on ch 3 of course. I flew until I was out of fuel and landed. I took the wing off and the linkage was fine and the throttle worked normally.
I took the plane home, and put the receiver on the bench. After several hours of observation, I found that the ch 3 of the receiver after about 30 minutes of power on was totally inoperative. The other channels operated normally.
My question is this...have you heard other complaints of this nature?

I plan to return it to Tower as defective and hope they believe me.

Regards, FRED

Hi Fred,

If channel 3 was the only one that was inoperative, then it sounds as though the receiver was defective. We have not had any complaints like this with the R617FS.

If you have included a letter with the statement below, when you sent your receiver into Tower, I would imagine they will probably do an exchange or refund for you.

Also to aboodys:

Please remember when you are linking your receiver to your transmitter, you MUST hold the Link button in while doing so. You cannot push the button and then walk away or it will not link.

Sincerely,

KRYSTA

Thanks for the reply.

I want to thank the several people who sent me PM messages to remind me that perhaps a low battery caused a "fail safe lock". This was not the case either in the plane or on the bench, but thank you also for taking the time to respond.

To answer the questions regarding my equipment, I use a couple of T9ZAP/WC2 transmitters left over from my pattern days and the TM-7 plug-in module which has been updated/replaced by the Futaba service dept.

KRYSTA....help please,

I am having trouble binding a new Futaba R617fs receiver to my Futaba 6ex FASST radio. I have done this successfully with 4 other of the same receivers in my other planes, but no joy with this one. In fact, its the second one in a row. The first I sent back to the internet hobby store I bought it from as defective, and they sent a replacement. Now this second one does the same thing. I get a green flashing light when I power up, but when I press and hold the link button to bind it, it goes flashing red, then back to flashing green after pressing/holding again. I tried binding this receiver using 4 differnt speed controls (all working good with other R617fs recvrs and my radio) and differnt lipos. Nothing !

Any suggestions,

Thanks,

Does the receiver link when you use a regular battery pack instead of the BEC in the speed control? The battery pack may be a problem...low voltage can cause the difficulty you're seeing.

Hi,

Just blinking green led, I've tried everything possible, it seems to blink green for ever please tell me what to do.
I just had exactly the same problem, so I googled a little for it and found your thread.

Symptoms: My 6EX TX works fine with my other RXes (one 607 and four 617) but not with my new 617. My new 617 bound OK to a friend's TX (one of those modules that snaps into the back of his TX - I don't know the exact type name).

I have tried to follow the idea that there was not enough voltage out of the onboard supply - and connected the RX to my lab supply @ 6.0 volts. Still the same result - green flashing LED.

I have bound my other 4 617s myself - I think I must know how to do it right.

Either I will return the receiver now, or I will see if I can find someone else with a 6EX TX, just to see if it works with that.

My first post here. I used to hang around more at rcgroups.

Regards
Soren

I ordered a 617FS from Tower and I'm experiencing the same problem.  I have two 6EX, two 606 and one 617. No problem in any of them.  This new 617 however just won't link.  Tried the second 6EX and had the same problem.  The serial numbers of my TXs are both A7xxxx.
Too bad these receivers are not serialized.  This one however has a small dot of gold paint to the right of the link button.  I'll be a shame if we find out that Tower or Futaba recycle returned receivers!

I'll be contacting Tower in the morning.

P.S.   Straight 4.8v NiCad.  No fancy interconnection BEC or anything like that.

If a receiver will not link, try putting the transmitter and receiver closer together.  Also, make sure that there's no other 2.4 GHz device in the vicinity.  A wireless computer network in your house can cause problems.  If you are working near cel phone towers or othere  microwave towers, you may have difficulties.  Otherwise, you need to hold the link button in until the receiver links.  You do not just press and release.

Hi,

I think there is really something wrong with some of those Futabas...

- I did try to turn off my wireless network
- My tx and my rx were 2 feet apart
- I held in the link button for looooong - and several times
- Itried at 4.5 volts and at 6 volts
- I tried at 2 different locations (1.5 miles apart)
- Itried with another 617. That linked OKto my tx at both locations.

I have sent back my "bad" 617 now - we will see what they say - here in Switzerland.

Yes, the receiver will work fine. You must make sure that your servos can handle the voltage. They are the real limitations with using higher-voltage battery packs.
