Your approach is quite reasonable. If you use the os 95 methanol you will have a high enough consumption. Methanol is very expensive !!! On the other hand, NGH 17 consumes a very cheap fuel. Give it a try. BUT DO NOT FORGET TO BREAK IN THE ENGINE THE BEST WAY !!. Otherwise you will have a broken conrod ,like mine..!!!
Thanks for listening

I would go for the RCGF, they have good reputation, if you get that engine, I like to suggest getting it from VVRC, Tom will help you in any way he can to make sure you have a trouble free engine, he also can run the engine before shipping to make sure it is adjusted and it's running fine.

the RCGF is not looking good for this application, I did some late night measuring,
the RCGF with it's rear mounted Carb is too long ,, to keep the Nose Cone close to the Cowl the RCGF's Carb will be about 3/32" away from the Engine Wall,
the NGH has a longer nose for it's front mounted Carb, but it's Back Plate should be almost 7/8" away from the Engine Wall
BTW, Valley View is out of stock of the RCGF 15

The NGH-17 is a revised/improved version of the JBA-15g.
Michael Chow (formerly of JBA) started up NGH.
The NGH line initially showed Valley View RC as one of 2 USA distributors, but
now only Agape Racing and Hobbies is listed on the NGH web site (for USA sales).

Agape Racing and Hobby, LLC - Shop Home
There's already a thread here on NGH Gas Engines.....
NGH GAS ENGINES - RCU Forums
Another tells all on the JBA-15g (New .90 gas engine (15cc))
New .90 gas engine (15cc) - RCU Forums
Any "issues" the JBA-15g had, are supposed to be fixed in the NGH-17.
You'll need to read that msg thread for details.

high rough idle
Hi everyone this is an old thread but i just bought one of these and was wondering about the idle. I have only let it run at about 2900 rpm for 2 15 min cycles.
Anything below abot 2500 and it has a rough idle and will die after a while nearly like it misses a bit. Running a 14x8 prop
Adjusting the low end helps a little but not much. I hearing of people getting a nice 1900 rpm idle so am a bit miffed.
Is it just that it needs about an hour or teo run time until it will low idle?
starts well and has a great transition but it will need to idle a lot lower yet.

First you probably need a bigger heavier prop . Running on the ground or a bench at 2900 rpm isn’t really helping you much after the first 2 heat cycles . It needs to be broken in like you’re going to fly it . I run a 15x8 and I found that mine needed lots of break in flight time before I could get it to idle below 2000 rpms reliably . Once broken in it would idle down to 1650 very reliably . Just keep your idle speed up for the first 10 or 15 flights and retune as it breaks in , you’ll get there..
