MALONEY IGNITION GAS ENGINE
HOPING ONE OF YOU OUT THERE CAN HELP ME WITH SOME INFO ON THIS MALONEY IGNITION GAS ENGINE. I CAME ACROSS THIS ENGINE AT A FLEA MARKET. IT WAS JUST THE ENGINE AND NO INFO SHEET WITH IT. FOR THE PRICE I COULD NOT RESIST IT. I HAVE BEEN ON THE INTERNET SEARCHING FOR INFO AND CAN'T SEEM TO COME ACROSS ANYTHING ON IT. I PUT IT ON A TEST STAND AND IT WILL FIRE. IT HAS A WALBRO CARB. ON IT,A CHAMPION Y82 PLUG,THE #02-0002 STAMPED ON THE BOTTOM IT WEIGHTS ABOUT 2+#. MY QUESTION IS DOES ANYBODY KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THIS ENGINE LIKE CC,PROP SIZE TO USE,ETC.ARE PARTS ACCESSIBLE IF NEEDED. IS THE COMPANY EVEN AROUND ANY MORE, ANY HISTORY ON THIS ENGINE AT ALL WOULD BE APPRECIATED

RE: MALONEY IGNITION GAS ENGINE
There were two versions of it, a 1.00 and a 1.25, one cu. in. and 1.25 cu. in respectively. The 1.25 will turn a 15x8 in the 7,000 to 7,200 rpm range, I've never had 1.00. It has a needle bearing rod. John Maloney did all the testing on the prototype 1.25 with the 15x8 and it is the only recommended prop. It was made in Korea. The carb is too big but it runs OK. Once started it will run quite reliably and is very frugal on gas.

RE: MALONEY IGNITION GAS ENGINE
I gave one of my 1.25s what I consider to be the ultimate hop up, I converted it to Diesel and it now turns the 15x8 3B Graupner pictured here at about 7,100 rpm. The muffler is a J-Tec Snuffler specifically for the Maloney.
