The stuff I use is sold by Perfect. It's a green hard material that I cut with an Exacto knife. I actually use it on my muffler to cylinder head on all my gas motors, and it never leaks..I got it at my LHS. We also used it at my old job as a gasket on big flanges for Boiler installs,it came in a bigger sheet.

Frank

Where are your needles set at? Mine was extremely hard to start at first. The 26SSRs are very hard to start if they are overly rich. Once I got it started it got alot easier with every run. Now (after 3 gallons) it starts on the second flip after primed.

Recommend you check the "Brillelli Update" thread in this forum. It says Scott has gone out of business.[&o]

For what it's worth, Scott and Adam at BCMA Engines (are/were) good friends. I would suspect both are familiar with each others products and maybe Adam would be willing to do repair work on a Brillelli engine without warranty............

The 26SSR is/was a 29cc Chung Yang clone of a Zenoah RC260 GoPed engine...Any muffler that fits a G26 will work.....
FWIW, the hard starting could be caused by a weak pulse from the case...The fitting in the case is very close to the full circle stroker crank...The pulse could be partially obscured....

Mine was hard to start for the first gallon. Had to use an electric starter. Now it starts up just fine. A lot of the problem also was the low end being VERY rich.I think I'm 1.5 turns out.

At least you guys got you engines. I just received the Notice of Filing for Scott's bankruptcy proceeding. Can't help believing he was being less than honest when I think back about the times he told me it was shipping. He even sent me a USPS tracking number, but of course never took the order to the PO. I guess this falls under "live and learn."

Why does it matter which one he is,

I wonder if BCMA engines were the same motor as the Brillelli's and they coudn't get parts either?

BCMA Engines were totally different from Brillelli. Adam started out converting Homelite chainsaw motors. Both company's were very good at what they did. The introduction of the Chinese DL, CRRC,SPE's, XYZ, etc motors at equivalent or cheaper prices meant that Scott and Adam just could no longer compete. Adam tried for a while to carry one of the Chinese makes but that did not work, for him. I'm still flying both a Brillelli and a BCMA motor and they are good motors. I just recently purchased a CRRC 26 Pro, but have not run it yet. According to all the threads I've read it's suppose to be a fairly decent motor. I wish both Adam and Scott the best of luck as they both supported and advanced the hobby in the way of the gas engines they produced.

Happy Flying!

Jake,

I have a Brillelli 26 SSR that I plan on putting in a QQ 73" Yak 54. I would like to use a tuned pipe to give me a little more RPM so I can move to an 18 X prop. I notice that in the 26 SSR thread you recommend that someone buy a g26 header and pipe. I found a nice composit pipe, but am having problems locating a header for the motor. Do you have any recommendations or sources that you could pass along?

Thanks,

Mark

mmontella,
The CRRC 26 has the same exhaust hole pattern. Maybe Jody at Valley View RC could have info for a header that will fit your 26-SSR.
Or check on the CRRC 26 forum to see if someone used one.
Good luck,
Darrol
