Default dle111 carb problem

started the 111 for the first time today and it ran great, idle was good too!!

problem is it is leaking gas out the throat of the carb when idling. only leaks when running. Tried leaning the low end and it responded to the leanness but still leaked the same....leaks about a drop a second....check out the picture....

Metering valve under the diaphragm is not set at the correct height.

Check the reeds and prepare to get a warranty carb, could be an internal leak not worth playing with, good luck

I have to go with T.O.M on this one. Same thing happened to a friends DLE. Adjusted the metering arm and runs like a champ

My DL100 has been doing this since new but seems to me to run like a champ...Am I missing something??? I don't want to screw around with it as it's running great but if it's a serious problem then I guess I'll have to get it fixed...Engine only has about a gallon and a half through it right now...

Zed

Wow !!! Just looked and it's mounted on the same plane...LOL !!!

Call Jody at Valley View and find out what the correct height the metering needle is supposed to be at. It's not at all difficult to correct. You should absolutely fix it.

Added video link...check it to see if it sounds right...I just got the engine back from him right before this vid for a cracked hub that was replaced under warranty...

Oh and the prop was a 27B not "A" but now I switched to the 27A...

Hey outsider, sorry about jumping in on your thread like that...

One other thing...I noticed in the pic that you seem to be running the stock gear. I had to reinforce mine with a sacrificed graphtech gear. Also I made a new landing gear block and reinforced the stock "plates"if you will. You may want to do the same, just trying to help...PM me if you need pics...
