Have you tried "MT ENGINES usa" ?

You know - the company that was set up to sell MT (and run by one of Mr Shensclose frinds orrelatives), Youknow- the one that no longer sells engines, especially not MTengines.

What does that tell you?

Jody,

Do you have any parts for the 70?
A few, depends on what you want/need and which version engine you have.

I would really like to know what you have done to improve your quality control for these new engines. Also, if you are producing parts for the current mt 70.

Quality control??

He doesn't make anything. He just assembles parts. And not very good ones or very well at that, according to the previous posters.

Would you really expect that to change?

Thats kinda what I'm getting at. Seems like everyone replies except him, unless he's telling you about the "new" engine.

Thats nice, but the questions were, what about quality control ,and, what about parts support for existing engines?? I have an Mt 70 that I have to consider a throwaway if I crash it, becuase no one has any parts for it.

Hi 72.

lot lot parts for MT70 .so dont worry about the parts if you need some, and I let one big company that have ISO9000 to build my UPDATE engine , and I test run each of them for make sure engine are good and powerful . this the new way for me to do the engine, I think better do the job what I'm good with , it's only for design and marketing , he he.

mr shen,,,a real friend will allways tell you the truth,,,im going to step up, and be one,,,i personally  am a witness to your designs and marketing,,,which ,in my opinion,,has never been your weakest link,,,as most will agree,,,with the fact,,that you should add quality control and opendminded  ness to your list of  expertise,,so you dont  continue to stay in situation youre presently in,,,with people not having confidence in your products or what you have to say regarding them,,,not only do you need to produce a good solid product ,,but also need to support them in the manner ,,we here in america are accustomed to,,otherwise you may want to stop before you waste more time and money.theres a thing over here ,,we refer to as b.s.,,,please have someone interpert the meaning,,,,one can ony deal with so much,,before moving on.

In Tomy's defense he does design his own parts and engines. The biggest problem lies with QC in production and product testing.

i do not know if you are comparing mt engines ,with apple inc,,because i can assure you that such a company would use parts anf vendors and assembly facilities ,,that meet a level of quality that is accepted world wide,,,are you saying your company is going to rise to that level??or are we still dealing with the b.s. i was previously referring to?only time will tell ,and as stated before,i wish you the best,,,all previous attempts have fallen way short, its only my opinion,,but an honest one.

Is it possible to change the batteries or otherwise service an Ipod etc nowadays? - maybe there are similarities

Message to Tomy
You have stated that you have learnt some of the errors of your ways and that you are now moving forward. I realy hope that is the case.

A word about the ISO 9000 series of certifications - The best they offer is traceability and consistency. If the specification provided for the organisation to work to is weak, then they will provide consistent junk. I just hope you are not offering consistent junk.

You have been known to come up with some decent designs in the past. The MT 70 being one of them (on paper - and when they actually do perform right they are decent).. What you have always lacked is consistently good quality.

Your new supplier needs to be given a very strict set of "accept / reject" guidelines and they need to certify that they have been met. Those guidelines need to be on dimensional tolerances, metallurgical specifications, 3rd party supplied products (Bearings, Carbs, Ignitions, reeds etc), Assembly hygiene, assembly techniques and measurements, roundness, taper, coating thicknesses - the list goes on and on and these things must be applied to each and every component.

IF you can write those specifications correctly, get your manufacturer to adhere to them and you can get a consistently good quality product to the flyers with support for them, You will have some success. If you fail to do any of those things, or intend to fail to do any of those things, I would suggest you stop right now and do not waste another feng on the venture and go enjoy your retirement with whatever money you have left.

If your certified manufacturer does not compy with your specifications, you have the ability to report the organisation and they face the possibility of losing their certification.

Which part of the ISO 9000 series are they certified to?

My engine is just on its way back from Valleyview . It needed to be "adjusted" but now it should be fine. I don't know if Jody will be keeping his parts inventory up though, so I thought maybe they would be available somewhere else.

Tomy
I appreciate your attempts to show "quality" but again you have failed to address what really makes the difference.

Running an engine for an hour or more before delivery could mean that it wil just have one hour or more for the dirt inside the crankcase to be well embedded into the moving surfaces. It could also mean that the bearing and load areas are "pre-worn out" before the end user gets the engine.

It is not the fact that the engine will run that is the issue - most engines will do that even if they are total junk and full of dirt.

What needs to be addressed is fits, tolerances, rejection of parts that are not within the appropriate fits and tolerances, proper cleanliness inside the engine when it is assembled (It means the parts need to be deburred and cleaned BEFORE they are assembled), and proper assembly techniques. These are the areas where you have let yourself down repeatedly over the years.

I hope for your own sake that you get it right this time. If you had followed this the first time around with this engine, you would have sold a large number of them, those that had the first ones that actually ran for more than a tank or two of fuel didn't seem to complain about the performance but many complained about the issues I have mentioned above.
