Throttle Linkage
Putting together my 1st gasser, a TOC Yak 54 (30%). Would like some help with setting up the throttle linkage, pics would be even better. I'm aware that metal to metal is a "no no", but you know what they say, "a picture is worth a thousnad words".
Thanks!

RE: Throttle Linkage
Thanks for those pics, very helpful. Looks like you're using CF rod, right? How did you attach the couplings to it? Also, can you elaborate on the diaphragm vent tube? As I'm sure you know, DLE's translation to english leaves a bit to be desired and it's very vague.

That's not carbon fiber although I have used it before, it's just the threaded music wire that comes in the kit with ball links on the end. Disregard the crack about the diaphragm vent tube, I put that up there as a funny, the picture is of a carb off an engine that was sent to me for service, not the best example, it was replaced. Do a search in the DL-50 thread, there are lots of good examples and discussionin there.

Yup that vent tube job is something. Here is an example of one of mine. They are not always needed.
I seal the existing hole with silver solder, then drill and tap a new hole in the center of the plate. The nipple is installed with red locktite and ground off smooth on the inside.

See my DLE55 vent tube fix here: http://bliksemseplek.com/images/m12/carb_lg.jpg
The brass tube will be used to run a Tygon 1/8" tube into the fuze. This eliminates the problem caused by changing pressures inside the cowl due to airspeed changes.
To do this, remove the cover from the carb, scuff the area to be soldered with emery paper and solder the brass tube to it. If you are not familiar with soldering, do some research online or get somebody to do it for you.
You can also see how to do your carb linkages.
