What are our racing wheels actually made of?
OK, the title might give you a hint of what I am thinking about doing. I am referring to the 2 1/4" pizza cutter type urethane rubber wheels we have used for decades. I want to construct a different shape and size wheel for some experimentation. The reasons are I need a different size and shape wheel, but I want the durability of the main wheels due to the intended use of this wheel and the issues of having to change them once installed.
Has anyone out the had some experience with making these type wheels and urethane products?
Where could I get the urethane's and components needed to do this from?
What hardness (Shore A)are the ones we currently use, and if I do this, would It be beneficial to increases or decrease this?
What type of molds are required? Do you use a FRP mold or maybe a silicone type mold?
If my idea works out, I think this could catch on pretty quickly.
Thanks in advance,...

Scott,
You should start a conversation with Mike Helsel. He owns BB wheels. The wheels have been around for a long time and came from the Control Speed guys, Specifically, Glen Lee.

Thanks for that information Dan. I will write Mike right now and run my ideas across him and see what he thinks about it. I would have no issue with buying what I need, just what I need isn't currently made. [&o]
Thanks,
