Default Tuned cans for DA-150

Hi, everybody!
I'm going to 40% and just ordered DA-150. What the best tuned cans with smoke for DA-150 with inlet diameter of 25 mm? I already ordered 25 mm. heders.
Thanks

I would go with the KS 1090 full length pipes if you got the room, if not the MTW, KS, and the dalton aviation carbon fiber cans are all good choices. But, go with the full length pipes if you can make them work.

Hello,

Daltons are by far the best built. You cant blow that backs off like others.

What do the dalton CF cans weight? My friend had the DA150 today on 1090 pipes and it sounded so sweet in the air. I run KS1060 on my DA50. Good luck with your project Vadim!

I run MTW 100 cans on my 150...a smidge lighter than the Dalton Cans, plus they are actually in stock,lol....This motor dosent need tuned pipes unless your weight is oer 45 pounds...then some added power would be OK...

I have the KS1090 pipes on my DA150 and it turned 5900rpm's on the very first tank with the factory setting on lawnboy! Not bad. It seems to be getting stronger but I'll know more as I get a some more time on it.....but at this point I recomend them without hestitaion.

My cannisters weight 12.5 oz each. I have had problems with getting the carbon tubes made to my specs , but I believe I have that worked out now and have a large order of tubes coming in. I expect to have them in stock by the 1st week of December. Each cannister is made one at a time and the end caps are machined to each tube for a perfect fit, so this takes a little longer but you end up with a better product.

Thanks

Tony

I noticed with my 1090's on my DA150 that they make big power, I was impressed! Plus they sound cool

Hi All,

I recently installed Tony's Dalton Aviation cans into a 3M Comp-arf Extra.. WOW!!! plenty of power witha much smoother powerband than the standard mufflers. Several changes I noticed ,first you don't have to fly the plane so hard because it seems to pull good at a lower throttle setting and second the quiet exhaust lets you hear how the prop is working allowing you to fly just below prop rip.
I would have to say that after flying with Tony's mufflers vs the stock set-up, that I would never go back to stock if I didn't have to...It's just less stressful to fly a quiter, smoother plane! The result is a much smoother presentation..... My airplane is LIGHT and didn't need more power but it's nice to have the extra grunt in multiple upline maneuvers...

There are several thing to consider when installing Canisters or tuned pipes..
1. Header drop.....the actual drop of the header from the exhaust port..one size does not fit all...
2. header length...Different canisters and pipes ,need diferent LENGTH headers...
3. how will the entire setup clear the spar tube??? will it fit??

I am currently Assembling a Comp-Arf G202 w/a Da-150...
There wont be enough room to fit Dalton cans in front of the spar tube..(due to the motorbox /firewall configuration) DARN!!!
The good news is that KS 1090 tuned pipes will fit perfect....
Not that 33lbs needs more power but quiet and smooth are worth it!!!!!
One more thought that came to mind ..Some folks were down on cans due to problems in the past with header breakage..Now with the current availability of "Flex" headers , Breakage and related (mounting /binding) problems are a thing of the past...

All of my Pattern buddies that I fly with are smiling and grinning when they see my plane fly with Cans . They all give me the big"I told you so"...

What about JMB tuned cans from ZDZ? Did anyone use them with DA-150?
Thanks.
