Bulldog build

Demand a raise and a two week paid vacation, and if he doesn't come through for you, threaten to leave and go work for someone else ... bosses with split personalities, or identity crisis are always the hardest to deal with, it's like you are talking to yourself ... nothing like being your own worst enemy... when I started working for myself, I demanded two weeks pay in advance, that was twelve years and never saw a dime!

Yeah, you can't beat having the quality, care, and workmanship one experienced builder can provide, over a 100 china-men who don't give a rats ass whether its done right or not... not to mention the better packaging and delivery you got... my H9 super cub was shipped by fedx, they got it to me in 3 days... the fedx guy gets up in the back of his truck and drops the box on the ground on one of its end while he's still standing up in the truck... of course it had to be sent back because the impact punched the rear CF dowels through the ribs in each wing... another 3 days to send it back... then they sent out a new one all in separate boxes, total of 4, wings in 2 separate boxes, fuse in another, and hardware / tail feathers in another.
Building oneself, or having a experience quality builder do it for you is so much better in the long run, and well worth the added expense.

Thanks everyone, I love building them. One thing I especially like about the pics that I did not get a chance to see was how well the top wing butted up. It looked tight prior to paint but one never knows, I can barely see the seam in one picture, definitely no gaping hole.

Soon guys, first off...I broke the servo horn on the rudder.( brittle composite, waiting for parts) Second I'm still trying to familiarize myself with a new radio JR 11X. Then I'll take it to the field to run the motor a few times before going airborn.

The product of living in the big city...so many people that homes are built way to close of each other. Let's not forget the wonderful neighbor who complains about everything. He called the police twice on me for hovering my helicopter in my driveway, it couldn't have been the noise because it was electric. Just one of those neighbors that's retired and has nothing to do. I also tried running a few nitro motors to break in and that was even louder. I'm guessing this Valach 170 might punch a hole in his delicate ear drums. Ha ha!!
So, to make a long story even longer I have to pack it up in my suv and take it to my local field. I'll be sure to send video of the maiden as soon as it happens. BTW Robert, how long and how many times did you run yours before your maiden? Run time?
Thanks Bud,
Jeff

Heck I had a neighbor complain about a little OS .20 (point twenty!) that I was breaking in. I had only hit 4k rpm. That was the same neighbor that offered no help when I managed to catch the top of my head on fire. Whole nother story that!
But no complaints where I am now, next to a park. Well there was one. My wife! She was very upset that I had set off the fire alarm in the house from the exhaust from the ST .40 I was breaking in on the back patio. Jeez the windows were all shut. It is a ringed engine so old style break in. Rich as heck at first. I did have a really nice fog of exhaust in the backyard. I thought it was real cool.
Nothing like the cloud I had in the backyard when I was a teen kid. I put the wrong can of gas in the rototiller. It was 15% nitro glow fuel. That thing had some awesome power. Just had to stand clear of the muffler exit. 2 to 4 feet of fire coming out of it. Really pretty cool. err, uh well maybe hot.
With you though I have had to do all my engine running at the flying field.
Some people just have a bee up there *ss. I have even ran an engine on the patio of an apartment. No problem.

For a complaining neighbor I would and have checked the local ordinance and run things 1 decibel below it. Once I took a generator and drilled holes in the exhaust until it was just under the allowable level, the decibel level was lower between 11p.m. and 7a.m., and ran it from five minutes after 7a.m. until 5 minutes of 11p.m.. Each time a officer would show up I showed him the meter and he said have a nice day, with a smile. After a couple time's the officer told the nagging neighbor he would arrest him for filing false complaints if he did not stop.

Ha! I am an old fart and I am very understanding. If I am doing something worthy of complaint I will quit. For example a neighbor took a second job at night to make ends meat, so, I asked him what is the best day and time for me to do my yard work so as not to disturb his rest. But elsewise I will defend myself, my space, and/ or my rights with due diligence.
