I think I will correct that later.
Here another bunch of pix to show the finished (almost ) fuselage, all it needs now is the clear cote.

RE: Hostetler 33% Decathlon
Hi Guys
first time standing on her own legs - donĀ“t mind the undersized wheels (5"), these are not the correct ones (6"), which are yet to arrive.
Also no TW yet. And the height of this beast added to the table height gives an optical illusion on the angle sheĀ“s sitting "on the ground". But everything is correct, believe me.
I didnĀ“t mount the wheelpants on because theyĀ“re still on their painting supports for clearcoating, after that I will of course take a photo session of the fully assembled model.
Enjoy.

Yet another bunch of pix - empennage all set up, a rock solid arrangement. I used 2-56 rods, threaded at one end, to allow for clevis adjustments (after done, a drop of cyano will give additional strength), and bent at the other end to prevent from slipping off. The clevis is the Du-Bro 2-56 Safety Lock Kwik-Link Cat. 816.

Thanks Ken, I will pick up the FG parts from my autobody painter tomorrow, I never do the clearcoating myself, I want a pro doing it so it gets really right and fuelproof.
Got no notifier from your post...checking back at RCU a couple of times every day ...
Did the TW installation and glued in all hinges, did also the Rudder Pull-Pull installation. I dont like the size of the TW but itĀ“s what the owner choose.
For those who may ask, I always place a piece of cable inside the springs of the TW assembly to make it stiff (that eliminates the spring effect), otherwise there is no control especially in strong x-winds.
I will now proceed to the wing strut installation and adjustments and then I guess I am done.
Pix later.
Tomorrow starts our great annual fly-in FESBRAER (www.fesbraer.com.br), IĀ“ll share a few pix if I find something interesting...

RE: Hostetler 33% Decathlon
Thanks,
it was a real eyecatcher at the Annual Fly-In this weekend, less than 10 minutes after assemblying the plane for the exhibition I had another order PREPAID in hands!!
If I had a demo plane flying around I am sure IĀ“d get more orders right away...
Of course I will post pix of the new SDs taking shape. Also of this one after itĀ“s completely done for flying at the final destination, some 2500 miles away from here.
Thanks for all kind words and support.

Here are a few pix taken at our fly-in. I didnĀ“t register as a pilot, I only took the SD to the vendors area...I actually didnĀ“t see much of the show as I was "manning the booth" most of the time. So there are no further pix.

A couple of pix of #026 coming off the mill...done in the ever present red white blue scheme. FG parts being painted.
This is a 30% scale SD.

Hi Marcus, The 35% is an awsome job, just beautiful. What is the expected weight? The 30% is great as well ( as usual), Is the covering film or fabric on this one? Joe

RE: Hostetler 33% Decathlon
Thanks Joe
I donĀ“t have the final weight, I am still awaiting photos and info from the present owner. As soon as I have it I will post here, of course.
Here are the final pix of the SD #026 boxed ready to ship.
#027 already in the works, and the second 35% will be started this week.
Meanwhile, I got sidetracked by another project which will take my evenings and eat up a lof of space in the workshop - I am cleaning the shop tomorrow and building a 4th table to receive that huge plane: an Airworld (Germany) Focke-Wulf FW-190 A8 with all bells and whistles, complete with a Moki 215cc radial engine and all out scale detailing. As this plane was bought in Austria and totally disassembled and the components spread over several persons luggage for weight and customs purposes, I am commissioned to reassemble the plane, re-install all the RC components and change the engine from a King 100 twin to the brandnew Moki. The plane itself was shipped in the "sarcophagus" depicted in the pic below...
As this is a totally off-topic here, I invite all who want to see the project going forward to check my HP at www.marcusmodelfactory.com/Fw-190.html. Leave your Google ChromeĀ“s Translator on to read everything in your own language.
Along with the pics of the latest SD there are 2 pix just to tease you guys a little...

Thanks Ken, yes, heĀ“s more than happy. HeĀ“s still getting the feeling of the plane and of course, heĀ“ll do some customization regarding radio instalation, engine tweaking, smoke, etc...
If you like this one, wait for the next one, already in the works. Will be done in the livery below.
The city is called RECIFE, capital of Pernambuco State, some 3,000 miles from here...if you take a look at your Atlas, itĀ“s in the Northeast of the country, actually the most eastern edge of it - the point which is closest to Africa.

Here is a bunch of flight line shots of Kit #022 pictured earlier on this page. Flight shots will be taken the next weekend at a local event. Will post after that. This one flies in Petropolis, 100km shy of Rio de Janeiro, Brasil.
Sorry to take over the page but it seems that things are a bit on the slow side at the guys...
