85" 50cc QuiQue YAK54 Outrunner Conversion
A few Months ago I ordered the 85" QuiQue Yak54 (50cc) ARF http://www.somenzini.com/html/aircraft/yak85.html.
The goal was to power the model with a Single Outrunner System. The model was completed as per the instructions using Futaba equipment as follows:
Ailerons: S9152
Elevators: S9350
Rudder: S9351
Receiver:149DP
Receiver Battery:Thunder Power 2S-1320mAh (Duralite 6V Regulator)
The Power System uses the new Hacker A60-18L and Master 90 Acro ESC on Thunder Power 10s-8000mAh with a 26x15 APC-E Prop. The system pulls 85 Amps at full throttle. The all-up- weight of the plane is 17LBS.

I have one of these motors in my BME Edge and have been vary impressed with the performance. It’s nice that Hacker is producing outrunners big enough to power these large planes without breaking the bank.

We have about 40 flights on the model. This system flies the plane very well and provides enough power for 3D aerobatics and Pattern. The speed is lower than the typical 50cc but has unlimited vertical that is very solid. We have flown this model in many weather conditions including +103 degree weather, High humidity and High wind (25mph). Typical flight times are about 10 min with mixed full/part throttle.

Sean:
Nice set-up. Who makes or where did you get that motor mount that has a rear stabilizer plate? What kind of RPM's do you get with the 26x15 apc. I have a comp-arf 2x2 that will finish out at 15lbs and I was thinking about going the next higher kv on the A-60 cause I don't think I will have the prop clearance for a 26. Thanks in advance.
