Thanks Pete, the tubes are HS brass tubing, the plug snout's lowest edge is about even with the curved edge of the valve pocket.

i've sat on one in the shop and you could go to sleep the seat is that comfortable.Acdc the headers need a good support off the firewall,lot's of people don't do that and use some split silicone tubing on the clamps as well.Popey you still alive? if so i've found a new bikers cafe up in the hills and they serve a flat white coffee you won't believe.Overheard someone say they call it columbian bam bam with a sprinkle..of what i'm not sure but it makes every harley rider you pass look like this

It's very spring here in Va. those colors are gold metal flake called Light Green Envy and Dark green Envy. It was the first week in May that year, the day before had been 50 degrees and raining, we rode anyway and saw Mt. Rushmore in the fog. We went to Sturgis just to say we saw the town.
At $150.00 a pint I couldn't afford to paint a Saito that color.

Its a great color. Here is a question for all you bike lovers out there. I saw a not small gathering of bikers recently, I'm guessing Patriot Guard from the look, when I spied a couple of fully dressed bikes one in electric blue and the other bright orange. What caught my eye was the rigid saddle bags extended over the exhaust pipes. Great looking bikes! Does anyone have an idea what brand of motorcycle they may have been?

Nope the saddle bags were longer they actually covered the pipes. The bottom inside corner was shaped so the pipe could pass thru without touching the bags. It had one pipe on each side of the bike.

I'll call you slim jim from now on but not for long i think..is that the custer park with the battle display on the hilltop where the soldiers are winking blue lights and the injuns are the red lights set in a big glass case and you see how the battle unfolded,if you could call it that.Reason i ask is maybe your survival skills are on the wane,would'nt you rather ride an indian motorcycle thru there?

Pete, I'm enthusiastic about a lot of bikes but the Indian is not one of them. This Triumph Thunderbird LT would fill the bill nicely. But, I'm happy with my Sporty, it gets lots of compliments every where I go. At Church Sunday it drew a crowd.
Hopefully I can fly my Alpha 60 with the C&H ignited Saito 1.00 on it Saturday, or An LT 40 with an OS .56 Alpha.

Un be lieve able~! I ordered a simple gear set from Horizon for an A6000 servo, small package, put in an envelope and stick it in the mail, right? They ship it FedEx. It leaves Champaign IL, goes to Chicago, then to New Berlin WI. I live just outside of Rockford, so a simple 2 day delivery with the USPS, takes 4 days with FedEx. They got the Fed part right, slow as the federal government, but the ex part, maybe you want them to be an EX. Sure does not stand for Express, not when they take twice as long as the USPS to deliver a letter.
Champaign is only a 6 hour round trip drive for me. Too bad I couldn't just drive there and pick it up.

Dave if you keep posting pics like that i'll be tempted to trade the duke in and buy one,you could rack up some serious miles on that.What the hell am i thinkin?? when i was about 12 on the farm and had got the hang of driving a tractor i wanted to ride motorcycles next being young and bullet proof.I'll never forget one of my daddies saying 'son,don't never ride nothin you caint pick up out front of the pub dead drunk;..

Well I got my part, its a little bag with the cardboard thing that it hangs from with the labels on it. They shipped it in a 10x6x5 box. LOL the box weighs more than the part!

Everybody loves a woody, my Dad owned a lot of Ford wagons over the years, but never a woody. In fact he had one exactly like this one sans the super ugly eye brow. It had a 292 V8 with a four barrel and dual exhaust @ 202 hp.I put Continental Mark II mufflers on it and it would talk to you. One of the nicest V8 sounds ever. He also had a rare 1962 Falcon wagon with a four speed in it. The tranny was made by Daganham in the UK.
I think I have plenty of Saitos, a 1.25 might a nice addition, but we'll see.

The owner of FAD Hobbies in Wichita, KS in 1953 had a Ford woodie since it was new. He hauled us and our free flight and U control models to contests and club events around the city. Provided props and fuel also. Could not have afforded the hobby except for him. Thanks Frank.

Talk about nostalgia,.....my folks had a '55 Chevy Nomad wagon they used for deliveries. I helped out in the business while staying with them after I got out of the navy. It was the first car with "full time" power steering I ever drove. The thing would be worth a bundle now!
