Default GP Lear Jet Kit

Just picked up the Lear Jet .40 kit at a local hobby shop. Looked interesting. One of the members here believed that there is an issue related to angle of attack sensitivity. Do you have any other info on that? Also, it looks like the kit is rated for a .40-.59 engine..... seems an odd size. I trust I can use .61. Do you have any comments on that?

Seeing as this kit is out of production and there aren't a whole lot of them flying around here, any info you could offer would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Mike

Default RE: GP Lear Jet Kit

We're not sure about any issue with "angle of attack sensitivity". Like any airplane, it will stall if the angle of attack is too high. Once consideration is weight. Many people just built it too heavy. You MUST keep it within the maximum weight guidelines. Also, with the high tail, the prop blast doesn't affect it, so your takeoff speed will be a bit higher before you can rotate the nose for takeoff.
