Default 2.4 GHZ questions

Are all 2.4 GHZ TXs created equal? I dont mean the fancy add ons like status displays and anti lock brakes, but the range and the "Unbreakable link" they are supposed to create.
Will a $40 chinese 2.4 GHZ work as well as a $150 futaba?

Depends for bashing yes $30 FlySky one at hobbypartz.com will work great for a basher (I have one)

IMO the $50 FlySky 3channel has comparable features to the $100-150 controllers. I use one on the rest of my RC's. And the bonus of $8 RX's (where futaba's and the others are usually $80 a RX)

Then there are some members here who will say the chinese controllers are crap without ever seeing one, and say the name brands beat them in range and everything else.
Personally I don't know how much more range they want, seeing my chinese 2.4ghz controllers will drive any of my RC's well over the horizon and not lose control.

I actually like [link=http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=10608&aff=147258]this (hobby king)[/link] cheap hong kong radio better than the HPI one that came with my Flux.
It's in stock now too!
Only flaw is the lack of model memory in it. So you'd have to re-bind if you wanted to buy more rxs for different cars.

To say "yes it will work just as good as a $150 Futaba" is just flat ignorant, tbh.

You won't have multi-model memory
You won't have support after the sale
You won't have parts availability 10 years from now, or service for that matter

There are lots of things to take into account.

Don't mind ThunderbirdJunkie, just enjoying his 6 year old midrange radio.

I run eurgle2.4 Gen 4 (i think)..5 model memory, failsafe, abs, led screen etc.....bout 30 bucks, with $8 receivers.  I run 3 rc's off it and it has served me well.

My flysky gt3b gets inteference and know of other people with the same problem. I do not recommend fly sky. Also blew a capacitor on a reciever when I plugged the battery in.

That must have been very hard to blow seeing I just took my receiver apart and there is not a single capacitor in it...
Or not one that I can identify from markings, only thing that looks like one on the board doesn't have the coding for a cap on it, and looks to be a crystal due to where it is located in all truth(right under where there is a cutout on the casing).

Can't comment on the gt3b glitching seeing I'm waiting for mine to come. I got the gt3, and GT2 with no glitching at all or fried RX's (I have 9).

I was looking at the GT3 and heard that it glitches when it is operated at the same time as a normal flysky GT-2.
The GT-2 itself works fine... For a Savage you don't really need all that fancy ABS crap anyway...
EDITED WITH CORRECT MODEL NUMBERS

quite true.
I don't even use 80% of the crap even that the controller has. Only thing I use the model memory for is the trim settings(for all my RC's), and endpoints for my buggy, and 2 truggies steering servos.

I'll have to have to test that glitching between the GT3 and GT3b when my 3b gets here.
Its not a problem for me seeing I don't even know anyone that runs RC's near me, let alone use flysky gear

Cool! I want to get a GT3 for my Savage and a GT2 for my cheap chinese buggy, so tell me what happens with the glitching when you got it!
EDIT - Man, I got all the model numbers screwed up. The gt-2 conflicts with the gt-3, I don't know about the 3b. Do you have a gt2?
EDITED AGAIN W/ CORRECT MODEL NUMBERS
