TRANNY LOCKING UP
Last week while bashing around, my savvy did a weird sound and stopped moving.
To my horror I saw that the clutch bell had melted down a small part of the spur gear. Usually when you strip a spur ...it's all around. but this time it was different.
Something was making the spur grip at times.
I took the tranny apart... cleaned all the gears... 1 way bearing (page 28 on manual / part #86087) and casing.
What was making it grip was dirt trapped inside one of the bearings...(in my case it was the one on the rear outdrive). The protective plastic sleeves were removed and bearing were cleaned (I used carb cleaner... but fuel, alcohol etc... work too).
A small dab of bearing grease was applied before closing back the bearing.
test by hand..... whirrrrrrrrr.... all is well.
