JR DS8411, JR DS8411SA and JR DS8311
Looking for servos for my JR Ergo .60 heli and since I want to stay with JR my options were 8411, 8411SA and 8311. We know that the 8411 had issues and the helis were falling off the sky, reason for JR came up with the 8311 (all plastic gears and weacker motor). Reason for the 8411's failure was the all metal gears were not resisting to the high load/stress of the heli operation. Since the 8411SA has plastic gears (except the output gear) and all three servos (8411, 8411SA and 8311) have the same controller, what is the reason the 8411SA is not recomended as a heli servo???
Looking at a lot of posts from abroad (Asia, Europe) a lot of the heli guys are useing the 8411SA as the main control servo but here is a NO NO..why not? are we getting inferior products here in the US than the rest? Need info please. Thanks.

Don't rule out the 8231 - there are a lot of them in use on 60 size heli out here in TX, and I have never seen one fail.

RE: JR DS8411, JR DS8411SA and JR DS8311
The problems with the 8411 in helis is not related to the gear train. It is the vibration and load of the heli on the electronics in the servo. The 8411SA shares the same electronics as the 8411 so neither is recommended for heli applications. The 8311 was made for this purpose. The 8231 is also a great choice for most helis.
