Default XP783 Tx dead

Pulled out my old XP783 transmitter which I haven't used in a couple of years and plugged it into a Futaba charger. Doh!

I had it plugged in for just a minute or two, but now it doesn't turn on and when I plug in the JR charger the charging lights don't come on.

How bad have I fried it? Is it fixable?

Any help appreciated.

Dave

G'day Mate,
You have probably blown the fuse inside, take the back off & have a look, replace it & see if you were lucky or not.
But I bet you won't do it again.

Just checked. The fuse is indeed blown. Will try to get another today and hope that's all the damage I did. Thanks.

That is exactly what the fuse is there for. I doubt it is ruined. At the least, you should try replacing the fuse first, and cross your fingers. I have known of two other JR transmitters that were connected to Futaba chargers, and they were both fine after replacing the fuse.

Radio Shack has fuses that will fit your transmitter. http://tinyurl.com/2g6pfl

You can also buy them from Horizon Hobby. http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...ProdID=JRPA030

A quick trip to Radio Shack and $2 worth of fuses and I'm back in the air.

Thanks to all who helped me fix my boneheaded maneuver!

One question. What is a JR guy doing with a Futaba charger anyway? Dennis
