Default Watcha Buildin'?

Since Minnesota winters hit like a freight train, I'm already contemplating my winter build for this year. I've got a Goldberg Anni Cub to finish off and I think I'll be doing another Ultra Sport 60.

What are you guys building this winter?

As I stated in the ARF forum, I do assemble ARF's during the winter and they keep me busy, but now I would also like to start a new kit. I have a nice stockpile of GP, TF, SIG and Midwest kits. I guess I will have to start thinking about what I would like to build next, Warbird, Civilian, or just a sport plane. I have old Supersportser 90/120 and Sportster 40 Bipe kits and have been considering one of those. I also have the plans and fiberglass parts for the Ziroli D-18 but I need the wood kit to do that one - maybe a future winter....

Can't decide if I want to build a bipe plane or not. I do have a very old Goldberg Skylark that I saved from a trash pile to restore and I'm planning on stripping and re-finnishing my oldest Ultrasport.

Top Flite Gold Edition P-51 Kit, Tiger 60 kit, and 4 boxed up ARFS that have been sitting all summer while I fly. My hangar is going to double over the winter and my wife is certainly not happy about it.

I also fly more during the winter so summer is my active building season. At the moment I'm seeing how bad I can screw up my Sukhoi I built this year by painting, so far so screwed up. I really can't paint!!
I may be teaching my flying partner how to build this year, he has a SIG Smith Mini. Not my first choice for a first kit build but my buddy is really good with wood working and understands what all the parts are. He should be OK with it.
I may {or may not} start cutting the kit for another CG Extra?? I may{or may not} buy the plans for the Swoosh?

Going to finish off a BTE Venture that I started earlier this year. Then I've got a Balsa USA Sport Trainer to build for a review. And then I'm not sure what is going up after that.

Here in Oklahoma we pretty much build all year round. While we do have a "winter" here, we never really shut down flying as we still get flyable days throughout the winter. But of course we build during those times too. But we also build during the summer as well. Because of the heat there a many weekend days that it's too hot to fly after noon or 1 o'clock, so we go back to our shops and build!!!! So we have building AND flying season all year long here!!!

Ditto here in Bama.  I build year round in my air conditioned shop.  But I still like to have a "winter" project.  I have already built the fuse for a Giles 202 33%.  Well, framed it anyway.  This one is gonna be expensive.  Multiple high dollar servos.  111 cc gasser.  Its a slooow project.  I will probably get a Sig kit to fill in the time.

I should have my LT-40 done in about two weeks and then it's on to the 4*60. The engine showed up yesterday.

This is a BIT off topic, but since i see so many people mentioning the Sig LT40 I will ask... I had thought of building a large LT120 from the Sig plans, is there enough info on the plans sheets to do it without tracing all the parts..then enlarging? I am guessing with a constant chord wing, and a box fuselage it is mostly there..never hurts to ask

Building a Home and Hobby Solutions 'King Altair'. I am fiberglassing and painting with KlassKote epoxy. Robart retracts and ST 90 inverted. Lotsa work. I expect to complete this winter and fly in spring. This is my second winter build, second winter coming but zero completed planes. Perhaps next weekend I'll have on all the cloth and can start the sand and fill phase.

Not building much, between flying sessions trying to build a 60 inch wing span Grumman JF2 Duck. As soon as I get the switches and batteries for the retracts installed , it will be ready for sheeting, sanding, sanding and painting.

Currently building this http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_10...m.htm#10675605
Next C.G. Extra 300 that i started on over 13 years ago. Will cover in 100% polyester dress limning. The wing was already covered. After that Time for a biplane, I have a pair of wings wanting a home. Maybe sneak in a .40 powered control line Magician With a couple of foam .049 C.L.s thrown in.
Oh darn at ny current build rate this sounds more like winter/summer/winter

Finish up my TF P-47 .60 and finish bashing my CMP Hellcat, and repairs. I have a flying buddy who's been stashing kits since the 60's and now he wants to unload some

Try Kinko's if you have one near you. Local Kinko's here can size up or down your plans. Cut out from there. No tracing needed. They get 75 cents a square foot.
