WoW, that's hairy, Hairy! It must be worth it now when your birthday comes around though LOL. I have 2 quiet girls who are all grown up now but no grandkids in the immediate future.

Sign me up! I have a ten plus year old Tiger .60 ARF with a 70 inch span that I converted to electric. I'm running a "60" size motor with a 70 amp ESC swinging a 14x8 electric prop. I use a 6s 3600 mAh LiPO. More fun than a barrel of monkeys!

I have a tiger2 that has flown for many years. It has even suffered a hard landing and rebuild. One of my favourites! First as a trike with full retracts second as a tail dragger, which is a lot more fun.

I have never tail drag one yet, they are a great Sunday flyer, just to get out and relax with. They fly wonderfully and landing is a cake walk. I will put something down and try and put the nose gear on it when I land. Fun little planes that you just seem to take with you every time you go to the field.

Sign me up ,if i am not on the list already
Friend at the field ,crashed on landing ,and was finished with the plane
He gave it to me
i love the plywood fuse , it is very rigid ,and that is a real positive ,in any design for me
i did take out some dieheadral ,so she goes where i point her ,you need some
i have my favorite 60 size engine in her, my 60 webra speed with a new TN 2 carb
The webra turns 1000 more RPMs ,more than any of my 61 OSs , on the very same prop
The 75 fx would be a bit more powerful than the webra ,and a very good choice for the 60 sixe Tiger
You will need to consider prop clearence if going to a larger engine size

Ok, so I've had this Tiger jr .25 size... It's half built for a few years now, lol and was thinking of converting it to electric. I don't have any experience in electric just looking for any advise... I have a couple other unbuilt models I may convert to electric if I like it. Thanks.

This thread has been TOO quiet! Am finally settling down and have a house so a new Tiger will be on the bench soon. That is, after I build a bench! Thinking the Tiger 60 is the way to go at this point as it is not much bigger than a 40 size.

Thailaser, I built the Tiger 2 / 40 size from an original CG kit last year. I enjoyed it because it was my first RC kit although I have flown a god number of already built kits and built CL kits when I was a kid. I love the plane, it's a really smooth flyer. Maybe it's me but It's not real aerobatic at least compared to my other 40 size planes like a Sig Somethin Extra or CG Hot Stick ARF. A couple local club members have Tiger 60s that I must admit just look better in the air. They are way better pilots than me but their presence in the air is more impressive, like the slow rolls all the way down the patch. On the decision of a Tiger 2 or Tiger 60: I have a 60 size GP kitted Kaos with an OS 61 SF in it. It runs and flies great but man does it drink the fuel. Trade offs to both I suppose. When I build my next Tiger it will be something more custom like a larger stick built version ala Tom Clark in the Balsa Builders Workshop on RCgroups.com or maybe something more akin to the impressive custom Tigers by "Russmall" in this Thread. Fun anyway you go.

I have a 60 sizeTiger that I finished up late last summer, have only flown it once, has a 91 surpass engine, nice flying plane. I was experimenting with my radio last week and set it up to have flaperons, never used them before have heard mixed opinions on them such as beware of tip stalls and so on. Next flight with it I may try deploying them with some altitude to see how the plane behaves before I try the on landing. I was at our field a couple weeks ago and one of the club members had a 4 star 60 with flaperons, worked good on his plane.

Hello there,
I feel a bit embarrassed, It'ts been a year since I started building my Tiger 60, I will start to cover it soon. At this point I'm right here:
I' ve decided to make a variation on CG Goldberg original scheme for the covering. This is what I'm thinking:
What do you think? Red or black tail?
Hope to finish it soon. This project has been waiting way too long to be finished.

Thanks Calvi,
wheelpants are from an Escapade 61. The frosted look on the canopy is just the protective coating, which I haven't removed yet, instructions say it must be peeled off before cutting it, but I didn't do so

BTW, I built the original Eagle 63 back when it first came out, Flat wing/no dihedral. K&B 40 engine. Flew the h**l out of it and rebuilt/recovered it several times. The final iteration was with the original wing and fuselage modified for it to be a low winger. Used a Tiger canopy. It flew great, until an aileron stuck and I augered it it. i kept the tail feathers and one and 1/2 wing, thinking someday to rebuilt the fiuse and repair the wing. Didn't happen, and trashed the whole bit three years ago when I moved. I have an Eaglet 50 NIB kit that I am going to build as a low wing with a tiger airfoil, and a an Evo .36.

Yeah, I know what you mean about 60 size engines drinking fuel! I am trying to decide what size Tiger to build this winter now that I have a house and am back in the USA for good. Adding up all the goodies comes up with a big figure quickly and I can see why so many people are going the ARF route. Not only is it faster, it's cheaper! I love to build though but still struggling with with what it is going to be. Those Tiger 60's do look good, and they would do fine with a .46 or .55.
