If you visit my thread, you'll read that I initially had some problems, that weren't related to the BUSA kit. Once I worked past them, I've enjoyed this build.

I'm sure that building this big Cub will be an enjoyable experience for you.

I can't wait to start my Spacewalker. I acquired a NIB RCGF 56 engine for it at the last swapmeet. I love my Fly Baby Biplane. The field I fly at there is a riderscale std Flybaby (as shown in pictures). It was flying my FBB that I got the urge to build a rider, although an ultralight and have the best of two worlds!

It is a Milholland Legal Eagle Ultralight powered by a 2cyl VW engine shown here on liftoff at San Geronimo Airpark (8T8). Except for the gas welding for the fuselage and aluminum tube tail surfaces pop riveted together, the wing was all built very much like a model airplane: Spruce sticks, plywood and glued together with epoxy! I have enough left-over covering for the SW...

Bob, your Milholland Legal Eagle reminds me a lot of the Affordaplane I was looking at building before I decided to get back into R/C instead. It looks to be a lot of fun!

They have to make room for their 1/3 scale S.P.A.D. that they say they are NOT kitting. I guess if I ever wanted a Pup now would be the time to get one. Even if it went into storage for a while. A year from now they will be a lot more $$$$$ on flea bay.

Somebody posted about the rebate for Christmas and I purchased 2 kits from them (free shipping too), a Morane Saulnier and a Fokker DVII, now I will be looking for a used Pup at the flea markets:-)

If you stay away from the 1/3 scale stuff you will see the prices are petty competitive. There is a lot of wood in a 1/3 scale kit.

The 1/3rd scale kits are pricey, but even they are pretty competitively priced for what you get.

Exactly. Those big kits come with hundred of dollars in accessories. There may be initial sticker shock, but once you analyze what you get for the $$$, the price becomes reasonable.

stinsonsjr9, this is the Balsa USA Brotherhood, it's members are flyers who have built or fly Balsa USA airplanes. Check out their web site, they have several kits that may interest you. I love Piper Cubs as well, I have a 1/4 scale. You may want to look into joining the Cub Brotherhood, I am also a member. The construction forums are a great help in building your Cub, you should think about doing a construction thread on your Cub build. You can do that on RCU, you will get lots of help and advice from them members.

I love Balsa USA. Great kits , great service. I called them last week because I had gotten to the step where I had to hinge my ailerons on my taube and couldn't figure out how to do it. They answered the phone in two rings , transferred me to a real person, and then helped me with my question. To make things even easier on me they directed me to some new videos they have on their site. What other company is left in this world with real live technical service given by a person who has built your plane? Two thumbs up BUSA.

Hi. I've been a BUSA builder for a long time (started with a Swizzle Stick in the early eighties). Current project is an original issue EAA BIPE., Anyone build one? Is there a build thread for it or the later version? Thanks.

I guess I better ask for a brotherhood membership also. Please. Thanks.

Sincerely, Richard

My LHS orders all their stock wood from Balsa USA so everything I build has a little Balsa USA in it. I love their stuff!

Lee, I have met some of the Guys from Balsa USA at the events I have attended. They are some very nice folks, who are quick to offer advice or help. There are very few hobby companies who are out to local flying events around the country. Your comments about Balsa USA are right on, TWO THUMPS UP!!!

Welcome Richard, you have a number, our membership is growing. Do you have a construction thread on your EAA Bipe? It has been around a very long time, I have seen a few at the events. We are here to help and offer advice. I know you will be an asset to the Brotherhood.

It would be helpful for me if all BUSA Brothers would post their BUSA Brotherhood number in their signature. If I have missed anyone please let me know.

Hi. I am finally getting ready to build my BUSA EAA Bipe after about 25 years of it being in storage. I am missing the build manual for it. It is the original kit from the 80s or 90s. I don't know the difference between it and the newer kit that I understand came out later. But I do need the older kit build manual please. I will happily pay for any expenses in copying or preparing. An email copy of the manual is fine for my use. Thank you.

Thank you for the link. I need to call BUSA to see if the manual is for the old version kit or the current one. I really don't know the differences, but I think the construction is less classic for the newer, and the manual would be different.
