Top of the plane is covered and what a joy it was. I hope the bottom goes as well. Last pic shows an option that could be used but most likely I’ll stay with my original plan. The white really makes it pop……….

Engine compartment is fuel proofed and engine installed, now it is time to place radio gear in front and see if there is a need to add lead to the front balsa block. Last one I did needed some nose weight so I will assume this one will too. Once c/g is established I can finish covering the bottom and glue the nose block on…….

Nose block roughed in and glued on……. 7.5 oz of lead added to the nose block just to get me close……. I’ll weigh it soon, thinking target is 6.5 pounds. Feels 5 ish right now……..

Top is mostly covered and now I can cloth and resin the bottom riggers and fuse. Building the plane backwards is odd, but helpful considering all the water issues and balance concerns. No beauty contests here, just fun as hell to fly with no issues is my goal.

Your Northstar is looking pretty spirited just sitting there on the bench. Going to look nice as it is lifting off the water.
With that color scheme, it doesn't even look like the same air frame as the box top photo.

Now the messy part begins..

Thanks Rick, Spirited is fine with me, old eyes need to see it to fly it. I am loading up for a dirt bike riding trip in the mountains so I'll most likely focus on that and leave the plane set like it is for now. I'm at 6.2 pounds with all gear installed but no covering on the bottom. 6.5 is the target weight but I'll most likely go over a bit. 750 sq in of wing so I'll be ok....I think I can keep it under 7 pounds.......................but I hate going over................................

Second side done and heading to home stretch, I will commit the cardinal sin and cover the wing bottoms the same as the top…….not sure if I’ve ever done that but here we go……

Killer build! I have no good water spots in my area, but this still makes me want one!

LOVE the ugly stick scheme!

Just finished a force one and have been having a ball with it

The views here are good, the weather though has been rainy and the trails are pretty slick. We come here every year and this the wettest we have experienced. No big deal you just got to stay awake and watch for slick stuff.

dmehalko I love the force one you did, time for a Enforcer or Northstar now. Glad you came by

Storming and hailing right now glad we were at the cabin…………….

Well we made it back home, Mrs. Plumberdeluxe took a pretty good tumble on her bike and broke her hand in 2 places so there’s that. The bike is fine but she has a nice new cast to deal with. Going back in September so hopefully she heals up in the meantime.

Back to the plane……
