Default The best affordable laser cut kits?

Many kit suppliers claim laser cutting. Whose really fit and whos don't?
Who makes the best laser cut kits in a reasonable price range?
How much of their kit is really laser cut?

Mike:

There have been many posts about people being pleased with the laser cutting of this manufacturer and that, the only one I've personally used is Northeast Aerodynamics, the Twin-Air kits in the 45 and 25 sizes. They have many single engine kits also.

When we did the Super Duellist, the cutting was very good, but it was not done by a commercial kit supplier.

Incidentally, Light Amplified Stimulated Emission of Radiation. Not a "Z" please.

Bill.

Check out Laser Lizard. He actually posts kit prices on his site.

I built 2 Sig kits last winter. A Super NICE little trainer.... an LT-25, and a 4* 120. The LT-25 is all lazer cut and went together straight and easy. (about $70). The 4* 120 is part lazer and some die cut. It also built VERY straight. I think their 4* 40 and maybe the 4* 60 is all lazer cut. ...
(that is my kit bashed 120 in the avatar)...

I personally built 5 kits from Herr and they are the best I've ever seen. Almost every part is cut and to the precisely the right size.
AKM Sukhoi 26 is cut well and the fits are right but it's like a short kit with wood. All the necessary pieces are cut but most of it is just wood.
The lanier ST40 had laser cut parts but is mostly just wood that has to be sanded or planed to shape.
The TopFlite Contender had a few laser cut parts but requires quite a bit of carving
I have two Hobby Hanger Gee Bees and I am told they have such poor fits that the designer pulled his licence and started cutting them himself. I put off building them for that reason.

It seems that labeling a kit "laser cut" can mean one part or the hole kit.

I'm building a Sig Something Extra, all laser cut, nice kit for the price, under $90.00.

I built the kit of the Sig Somethin Extra too. Open the box, tip it over and dump the parts out, and they fall into place, just add glue. Man, that is an awsome plane. Builds itself. I built it in 2 nights. Very nice kit (not the ARF). Took longer to cover than it did to build.

Building a Laser cut Edge 540 and have a Super Duellist to build that is Laser cut too. I haven't seen any bad ones yet. They are all pretty good.

Flyboy, which Edge 540 kit are you building? I would really like an Edge, but have not been able to find a decent kit of one as yet.

Thanks
