Any preferances with tail-wheel assemblies available out there?
Easy installation and durable are a must.
I already have a 1" wheel for it......the 3/4" looked to dang small!!

I guess I should mention that the fuselage is already built (tail dragger was last minute decision) so getting in to install blind nuts is out of the question. I have glued and fit a piece of 1/8th" burch ply to the tail and wonder if CA and wood screws would hold up using the sullivan bracket. I like the ideal of the tail wheel castoring free but not sure it would work to long mounting as stated above?
Any of you think it would be fine or should I go with maybe the Great planes assy.?

It's never too late to install those blind nuts. You can carefully cut the covering back to install them. You can drill the holes then glue the blind nut on to a piece of wire.Bend to fit back in there and get the bolt started. The glue won't hold to the wire.Yes, you will have to use a piece of covering to re-cover.No,it won't look like crap. After tacking it on,use a heat gun to finish it off.
I used the recommended Klett gear.3/4" wheel works perfect. My Dad thought his looked small too.He bought the 1" wheel and it too works perfect.I think his is a Sullivan or Du-Bro.
This is one fine aircraft.I love mine.It flys so nice and true.
I hope this helps

On my Tiger2 I just fabricated a tailwheel wire similar to those on most .40-.50 size Great Planes kits - no real bracket necessary. First slip on a torque bearing (Tower sells them - they're like the plastic bearings on aileron torque rods). Then bend it to shape. The top end of the tailwheel wire faces straight back and is glued into a hole in the rudder. The flat part of the torque bearing slips into a slot cut into the rear of the fuselate and the whole thing serves as the bottom rudder hinge.
Some people don't like a tailwheel wire hooked directly to the rudder, but I've flown many .40-.60 size planes with that setup for years and never tore off a rudder or stripped a servo gear.
Good luck with yours. The Tiger2 is a great flyer.

That was my original thought, but I am coming to like the idea of the rudder doing the steering and tailwheel spinning free.....hope it works good.

Spinning free?
You will need much area to turn on ruuder alone.
Any kind of a cross wind on the runway will hampen your turning ability.
But,to each his own.
This whole hobby is a building, trying, learning, and back to the drawing board experience!
I love it and all the idea's I read about.
I am constantly reminded that there is more than one way to skin a cat.
