Default LST1 for $450? Or just wait for Aftershock?

My LHS STILL has a LST1 on their shelf in the box. They wanted $480, then as we talked the price came down to $450. So, should I buy an LST1 or should I wait on the Aftershock? The LHS said the price will be cheaper than $399. Possibly around $375? Or do I go back once the Aftershock is in and give em $400 for their LST1 if they'll take it? Not sure what to do. Not sure I really need the LST1 but I know it's been there a long long time on their shelf.

Ahhh, I would hold out for the AS. There is some upgraded parts that you wont get on the LST1. I am pretty sure the diff cases are aluminum, they looked like the silver ones to me in the pics. But I dont thing its worth paying $450 for the LST1 anyhow, although you could probably sell the radio and make a few bucks for upgrades, I'd still wait though.

yes thats the only upgrade from the LST is the aluminum cases. i would just buy that LST for $450. you can make an easy $100 off of selling that JR radio

there was some talk that the after shock engine was a 3 port instead of 8?

if thats true, the LST1 would win by a mile for 50$.

Let me ask this. Take radios completely out of the picture somehow. LST1 and Aftershock, truck vs. truck, what's the top dollar you'd pay for each? I could realistically sell the XS3 radio for maybe $50. So now I'd break even if I bought the LST1 basically without the radio for the same price as the Aftershock with a radio. I have an LST2, so I have the XS3 and don't need another one. So, is $400 a good price for an LST1 without a radio?

still is IMO.

few things. the LST1 is a 550$ truck. make no mistake. granted, that is not what your going to pay, but that is what it "costs". not going to say the aftershock is 150$ "cheaper" of a truck, but its safe to say it IS cheaper. little things like possible plastic shocks, engine might be different, and of course no reverse(though I and some others might look at that as a 24$ savings).

all in all though, Id still go with the LST1.

In my opinion, the LST1 is a much nicer option than the Aftershock. I like the idea of a cheaper MT, and I think the Aftershock will be just that.

But the LST1 is a slick truck, a little more fragile than the LST2, but never the less awesome. I have an LST1 upgraded to an LST2 through the kit, and I can safely say that It was an awesome purchase... I say go for the LST1...

Plus, you don't have to wait ;-)

50 bux for the radio? LOL! Put it on for 100 and it would be gone quickly. That's a very good radio. The XR2i is just another crappy AM radio with a computer screen, and some extra features. It is way worse than a XS3.

The radio alone will sell for $100? I figured you'd need the Rx and radio to get $100 out of it. Hey, a LST1 for $350? I like that!

After reading some of the other posts I have to change my opinion also, it is undeniable that even @ $450 your getting more of a truck. I didnt even take the engine in to consideration, the reg. 7 port M26 will more than likely spank the 3 port version all day long. But the real Q is, if your gonna come up with $450, why not scrape together another $100 or so and get another LST2, LOL.

Yeah, I have the LST2 and I'd love another but I just stumbled on to this deal. I probably won't buy anything though, my wife wants new flooring.

Dont forget about the shell. Although I like the look of the LST1 shell it will probably only last you a gallon or so before disintegrating where as the Aftershock's shell could possibly be much more durable saving you $$ in the longer term.

Exactly what we're getting badboy2! Hardwood throughout most of the house to keep the dust and pet hair problem down. We both have allergies so we figure it will help. LOL But that's another post on another forum on another website and I'm sure my wife has asked her makeup board that question already! Thanks for all the discussion though, it was interesting.
