spec3 is very new, might still be hard to find. spec2 is obviously also good.

I dont understand that either...the LRP seems to make tons of power, easy to tune, holds a tune extremely well and is pretty cheap to buy...I cannot understand whay its popular either

he asked about the picco; which is a good engine. probably not better than the LRP, but people do use the picco still. so it must suit some purpose.

RB928 - another guy on another forum runs the nova 28 and he has the rb928 in another lst2...I saw vids of both and they are very close...the rb screams, and of course the nova is insane - those two would be the strongest, fastest, without a doubt. I have heard the picco is a bit finicky to tune, but is pretty strong. The LRP 28 seems to be everyone's fav at the moment..I have not tried it, so I guess I should look at it too...

Honestly his video of the RB 929 doesn't look too spectacular IMO.... I can show you a few videos with other motors that are just as fast......

And sorry I was just playing aropund..the Picco will tune good once it has a gallon or so thru the motor....people alays expect way too much from a new engine....

I've got the Spec 2 in my Savage, and it is a really good engine. I was very surprised with the power. In my three speed Savage, it's almost too much power for technical driving. Very hard to hold on the track... but then I'm not the best driver in the world either

What engine is the spec 3 based on? The spec 2 is just a rebadged SH Prospec, but they don't have an engine that is equivalent to the spec 3 do they? Who makes it for LRP?

if you're referring to this video http://media.putfile.com/RB928 ....it was during final stages of breakin with +2 pinions and a rather stock LST2....I eased on throttle up to full throttle for very short runs...the carb showed up defective(probably from shipment) and has set me back for actual run-time and to be able to compare the two....but from what I've played with so far and especially after putting the original carb back in....the RB seems more powerful...

both motors are retarded...and to me....well worth the money....I may not buy the modded version of the Nova next go-round....and even if I do...it'll probably be the RB over the Nova...for several reasons...price...power...roto-start backplate...fuel consumption

yes thats the video, the way everyone was oohing and aweing I was expecting something special..... but honestly the truck didn't do anything special at all, it wasn't even that fast...... Now that you tell me the rest of the story it makes sense... But why on earth did the guys make such a big deal about the video ? they were blinded by the fancy motor and forgot to look at the performance....

anyways make a new video showing that thing running properly please

What is the mapping for the XTM engines to the LRP engines? On hobbypeople.net they list the 457, the 28 and the 24.7. Since the XTMs appear to be the only engine in this line readily available in the US (outside of eBay), its probably the way I'll go, but I'm not sure which engine I should get.

XTM 457 is like a LRP Spec II, both engines are a excellent value!!!

XTM sleeve on left, LRP Spec II on right......

I heard the Draked .30 blows balls. I'd not go to it any day of the week. I also hear it needs some mods done to fit in the lst.
