JS-2 16 scale
Hello.
A few words about my work.
1. I did not want to make an exact copy.
2. I did not want to paint my tank up to the color of these tanks.
3. I just wanted to make a fairly recognizable Tank JS -2 to 16 scale.
Tank still not completely done. Although all external work (except the final paint rollers) is executed.
So - do not judge strictly. Though. I think this is the first JS-2 in the 16 scale in the World
Thank you

Very impressive, that's a lot of hull modifications you've done. Looking great and an interesting subject.
Also interesting to see a guy in Russia using the same orange butane micro torch as a guy in Ontario, Canada! Looking forward to the next chapter,
Mike.

RE: JS-2 16 scale
There have been three donors for this JS -2
1. The lower bath, rollers, sprockets - KV-1 from Heng Long
Bath was made less wide by 14 mm. Must be at 16 but at 16 did not work.
2. The upper part of the hull and turret with a gun - from Heng Long Pershing
3. Small things on the body - T - 34 and Pershing from Heng Long.
All donors - have already been dismantled before me. I bought them, or as dead, or I gave them a token money.
Neither fully alive Pershing at these operations are not affected.
Then I realized that would make the tower on the KV-85 and JS-2 and not using as a donor of the tower from Pershing.

Great job...lots of work but it will be worth the effort. You'll have a tank that everyone wants. Are you going to try to get that heavy track sag into the tank? Could place a couple rollers above the track (just on the inside) between the return rollers. This would force the track down at the "sag" points to give it that sloppy track look. It looks very nice...Waiting to see the finished product..

If you consider the fact that in this world are now working only Chinese factories, it is not surprising - and in Russia and in Canada the same gas torch

RE: JS-2 16 scale
I understand you. But as I wrote above - I did not set and will not set a goal to make the tank closely matches the prototype. I'm not so much like to be in the details that would have to spend even a lot of time on such details. Although they are very well decorated model.
While plans to finish - airsoft gun barrel with recoil and flash LED
And if I can learn to cast tracks of zinc alloys - I do metall tracks and sprocket.

I think about scratchbuilding the same way you do. I just want to have fun building tanks that will end up on my shelf.......not in a glass case in a museum. Actually, I don't have the skill to build museum quality models...............that's why I do it just for fun.
I like your model, it looks really good to me. I was thinking about doing a JS-2 myself. I hope mine comes out as good as yours did. I may get around to that project some day.

RE: JS-2 16 scale
In principle there is nothing daunting. In my work I used as a reference model 35 scale. Next - a lot of body parts can be done using auto fillers. To her superb stick plastic parts. And it is perfectly formed and then processed sandpaper. The only problem - it's the dust from the fillers. All processing must be done under running water.
As a basis I used the chassis of the KV-1 from Heng Long.
It is only necessary
1. Reduce the width of the tub. This is done by cutting off the vertical walls on both sides and stitching on 6 - 7 mm plastic. Then the vertical wall with a roller stick back.
2. It is necessary to move the upper rollers just below and to place them slightly above the other wheels. Like the 35 scale model.
3. You can then paste the desired angle rear bottom plate of the housing.
4. Slightly reduce the diameter of the rollers.

Very well done model. I am impressed. Have you been to Kubinka to see the real one? I would think so. And I also have the same gas torch here in Sevastopol, actually got it from an officer in the Flot serving on the Mockba in harbor. And have you been in contact with Hal Husker? He's in Mockba, and there is a growing number of tankers in Mockba.
Now, what a lot of you western tankers don't understand is, even though Mockba (Moskau) is a huge city, hobby shops with scratch building supplies are few and far between. Better than here, but still....for BlackCat to do this model with the available supplies he has access to says worlds about his skills.

RE: JS-2 16 scale
little about the tower, airsoft cannon, the barrel and muzzle flashes
In a muzzle brake - 6 super bright LEDs
Two wires lie under the paint of barrel
Barrel with a muzzle brake can move freely in aluminum barrel of 6 mm airsoft cannon.
Barrel with a muzzle brake clings to two latches to device recoil of the barrel.
Micro servo does move the barrel with a muzzle brake through the cravings of the cord.
Normal servo - raises and lowers the cannon barrel.

Producers are looking at models widely known brand tanks.
Aware of the models of tanks, which are widely mentioned in the memoirs and books published in countries
produce tanks.
But after 1953 the name of Stalin in our country has been poured mud and slander. And all that bore the name of Stalin, or was connected with it - was in the USSR under the tacit interdiction. And still our leaders throw mud at the memory and the name of Stalin.
Therefore, we in Russia are well aware tank of Victory T-34
T-34 has very good and not very well-deserved publicity.
But not even guess that this Victory tank was just a tank JS-2
And how do producers outside Russia know about the JS-2?

Wonder how many offers he will get to sell it..

I can not even think about it. Many solutions and ideas embedded in this tank. And how to evaluate this work, these thoughts?
How to sell your child?

RE: JS-2 16 scale
Yeah an IS2 or JS 2 if you like would be a major seller around here i would jump on one as soon as it came out. I thought some of that upper looked like some Pershing parts but wasn''t sure. good thing you had a lot of donor tanks around. LOL
