theres a throttle reverse switch on your radio, it reverses the action, on the stock radio im pretty sure its on the top, its recessed into the radio case, u need a screw driver to switch it, theres 1 for the throttle and one for steering

are u running a hump pack? Sounds like the battery wires shorted out and it blew one of the cells or more. Basically most of the time that battery cells explode is from user error, over charging, overheating, lack of maintainance and shorted wires etc

Well, time to get OS afied
Anything I should know about break-in on this motor or are the instuctions pretty good? I know that on the stocker motor I used the break-in instructions that are on page 1 of this forum because the instructions that come with the stock evader are set to lean. Any info would be appriciated, thanks guys.

Hey guys, i recently acquired an evader and in the process of checking it out, i noticed that the spur gear is not directly lined up with the clutch. Is this the normal setup for this truck? I don't have a pic to show but if you look in BIGSTANG's photo gallery; 3rd pic, it shows exactly what I'm talking about.
Also, I'm in the process of rebuilding the transmission and i wanted to know if just replacing stock thrust balls with carbides would solve the known melting gear issue, thanks!

No it won't, proper diff. and slipper clutch adjustment will help save your diff., the diff. will melt around carbide balls the same as it would melt aroung steel balls.
Oh and hey , fellow evaderite from philly!! I am right around the corner. Ever go to Hobby hut?

Yep, it's where i plan on racing my evader & raze once the track opens up again. They are actually the ones that recommended on just buying the carbides instead of replace everything with alum.

Cool, I will be racin my vader and Raze there as well, I think they have races startin as early as mid-april. Very nice track. As far as the diff. balls, I don't see how carb. balls will prevent the diff. gear from melting. Now I am by no means an expert on diffs. by any stretch of the imagination, but I would think that proper slipper settings and making sure your diff. is not to loose would be the only way of savin the diff. from melting(and also not driving like a nut
). In all my diff. melt experiances, it was always my fault for either not running the diff. tight or the slipper not being set right or just doin to many dohnuts. Please, if I am wrong, somebody correct me.
Oh, OS has been ordered and will be here this weekend
, can't wait!!
