Bought my 2nd Evader off E-bay today. Picked it up for 50 bucks plus 20 shipping. Shipping cost looks pretty good. It's coming from California to North Carolina, so I don't think 20bucks was bad, and 50 bucks for a running vader with radio gear seems pretty cool as well. Now I have one to bash and one to race.

why is the forum so dead... neways im picking up parts at around 10 :30 tmrw morning comeing home and rebilding my diff, putting a new battery carrier on then goin outside to break the diff in and from what the manuel says to run between 3-5 tanks to break it in i was thinking of running 4 tanks thru it just to be sure and then ripping around, it's raining right now so that helps me alot with what i had planned haha so im outts for now i'll update after the rebuild and again after the breakin, hah i'll try to film and drive at the same time haha

I was at my LHS yesterday and they recommended an Assosiated pipe(my spelling sucks) for around 40$ but they were all purple anodize and I was looking for a silver one. Well, will do more lookin around. I am kind of sour towards my LHS at the moment cause everytime I go in there they kind of give me the " oh, you have a DTX, ha,ha" attitude and telling me that if I want to get serious about racin, I should get a real truck[:@][:@]. I don't think I am goin back there anytime soon, I told them straight up that I would gladly put my truck against theres anytime but nobody wanted anything to do with that. It burns me up, all the opinion oriented stuff, all I know is that I have laid down plenty of vader whoop@$$ in the past and I know how good of a truck it can be but there is no sense in arguing with those guys. The guys on this thread have helped me out many times with my trucks and I want to thank all for the advice and help given to me to get my truck race worthy. Thank god for the Official Nitro Evader thread!!!!

yea, I have a LHS like that as well. That's why 90% of my stuff comes from towers or the bay. Anyway, here is a pipe I am running on my evader. Its only single chamber, but looks cool, and is wallet friendly.
It's a little shorter than the stocker but fits well.

Hey thanks Doc, that's alot more like I was lookin for. I can deal with the nice blue anodize over that weird funky purple. I will order it up today and hopefully be ready for the OS breakin this weekend. I just figured if I invested in the OS, I would like to put a nicer pipe on(don't get me wrong, I have never had a problem with the DTX pipes, just lookin for somethin a little nicer). I agree 100% with you Doc, you can't beat Towers and bays prices compared to marked up hobby shop prices. It's a shame, cause alot of times, I wouldn't mind payin a little extra to support the small hobby shops, but to go in and get hassle about what brand truck I have is a total turn off. It's all about havin fun, racin and bashin and talkin with other poeple in the hobby and helpin the newbs no matter what brand of truck or rc they have. Well sorry guys for venting, just had to get that off my mind.

Alright, so i ordered a new piston/sleeve today, and this time i want to make sure i assemble it correctly. 1st question why are their holes on the side of the piston are they exhaust ports? and which way should they be faceing? 2nd Question, on the connecting rod does it matter which end connects to what? Thanks ahead of time for the help.

Alright, on the piston their is a hole on the side of it which is a port hole..., does it face out the muffler port or the opposite?

Hey Doc, did you have to get the traxxas coupler with that or does the stk dtx work? Thanks.

Nevermind, i think i got my piston/sleeve resolved..., tell me if this is right if you have the exhaust off and you look into the exhaust port, you can see the piston when you rotate the flywheel and you can see a hole in the piston?

the stock coupler works fine.
I have a few b/u stock couplers layin around I will use. Hey, are you using the stock header. I was thinkin about strippin the black anodize off my header and maybe gettin it blue anodize to match unless you can recommend one that will match the traxxas pipe that is blue. I wasn't sure if the traxxas header would fit. Maybe I am just to obsessed with this whole pipe thing

Mine went up the other day after a meeting with an angry curb. [:@] I replaced it with an all metal geared Futaba S3305, and love it. Although I think my battery life is a little shorter. -Lp
