RE: What do you think about JETLEGEND L39?
He is actually an Elite Force BBI 1/6th scale F14 pilot, but should be O.K. for the L39.
Got him on E-Bay.
Mint condition never out of the box. I was amazed by all the detail.
All the best,
John C
Have a Sabre pilot comming soon, I hope, from China same source and size.

Nice pilot ! A size which is (sitting !) approx 160 mm from seat bottom to top of his helmet is the correct height for in the L-39 cockpit interior.
My Batman is in a wheelchair now as his legs had to be cut, but the girl still has her sexy toes.
For her we made an opening in the dashboard, but not for him !
Nicolas.

Nice one Andreas,
Still waiting to hear about mine.
The postman came to me today with a new friend for my F14 pilot.
All they need is a new ride.
All the best,
John C

RE: What do you think about JETLEGEND L39?
Hi Andreas,
I have TWO servos for the Elevator action (Futaba BLS451, 11 kgr torque each), and this is how the kit suggests it.
I regret I did install S3305's on flaps, they do not meet with my expectations (unprecise,...). Should have used top quality all around.
Best Regards,
Nicolas.

RE: What do you think about JETLEGEND L39?
Hi All,
No there is no manual with the kit, only a 1:1 plan which lacks the essentials of a plan : hinge lines, servo installations, etc etc. You see the outlines and the cut-outs and the bulkheads but that is totally useless information as everything is pre-installed anyway. Only thing it was useful for was for finding the location of the CG. Building this plane is like opening each bag and trying to figure out what it serves for and where exactly. Surely not a kit as a first jet. My own kits in the past were the opposite : intentionally no plan, only a very complete manual. Building jets must be more like assembling a Tamiya R/C car by means of a step-by-step building sequence. A plan with a good ARTF kit is something prehistorical and contradictional. But for the rest : almost nothing but absolute praises for the JL L-39. Everything fits perfectly, very far pre-fabricated plane, sturdy parts and linkages, very complete except for the door hinges, air cylinders and some minor things. But the best of all : the superb and impressive flight attitude. Definitely a show stopper. I am waiting for my afterburner lights, and all landing, beacon and anticollision lights to have it complete.
Sorry I do not know the weight yet, and I do not really see how I could influence it a lot myself as the only thing I could do was dropping all parts in it (and adding 796 grams of lead in the nose ).
Our grass strip is 120 meters by 120 meters... very large by European club field standards....
My L-39 takes off with a P-160 and half flaps in 40 meters, on grass. Could be less perhaps with full flap take-off...
PS : Guys, keep them coming, those photos of the pilots... haven't had so much fun last months as seeing these !!!! LOL
PS2. To all : Please refrain from sending me more love letters and dating phone calls, please. The sexy co-pilot has already a date and not with the kind of the guy you want to have trouble with.
She's flattered anyway and she will post a reply soon to all the admirers all over the planet. (And NO : it is the STICK that Batman is holding with both hands !)
Nicolas.

RE: What do you think about JETLEGEND L39?
Thank's Nicolas
you are quite right in what you are saying about the plan [8D] .
in regards to my own club grass strip it is 250 m on cross runway and 200 on main runway this wont be a problem for the L39
would you have any interest in making up some of the servo trays?
regards
