can you guys do me a huge favor?

I went ahead and ordered the kit and contacted Darrel about the nosegear. Also I think I would like to add his brakes to the mains.

I wonder if his wheels and brakes will fit in the wheel pants. So can someone tell me a few things?

Whats the main gear axle size, is it 1/4?

Also whats the width of the opening of the main gear wheel pants?

I would appreciate it, thanks in advance.

It's either 3/16 or 5/32, I'll have to go check, I do know that it is not 1/4, there is not a whole lot of room in the mains pants, brakes sure would be cool but I don't think that you'll have the room. You'll forget about them when you've just finished about a dozen touch and goes some Sunday afternoon. You did the right thing in ordering a replacement nose strut, also it might be a good idea to pin the firewall if you plan to put a Big Gasser on it, I had a fresh Q-42 so that's what I hung on it, flies great at about 1/3 throttle, I'm turning a 3 Blade Graupner 16-8 with a DB Vortec spinner. If you need some pics of my installation send me an email and I'll send them your way. Thanks...Don

thanks, let me know on that axle size when you get a chance.

I already have the engine, it's an ASP 1.60 flat twin. The 2.9 hp will be more then enough after hearing that the other one on here flew well on the O.S. 1.60 with almost 1 hp less.

I was planning on using a 2 blade 16x8, what would be a good 3 blade for this setup and what spinner?

Great plane easy to scal out and detail i put RAM lights in it and fly with 15 and 30 deg flap deflection. with full flaps you need alot of down trim. kit is very nice to fly great dead stick glide ratio too. any questions e mail me or drop me a line i had bought two more because i like it so much. 1 423 467 9986 Ed Ritsko

I ordered mine and Darrell shipped them to me today, should have it in a few days. He said they made a run on these this weekend, so if anyone needs a setup he has them in stock.

Default THE LATEST

managed to sell 2 out of 3 of my remaining glow planes...
made just enough to cover the cost of the SKYLANE!!

once i sell one more plane - that oughta get me halfway to another BME.

if you build it - it should fly.

Hi Guy's:
Flew mine last Saturday. All I can say is she sure is sweet. How do you guy's feel about the CG on the plane? I ran out of elevator on flair. Also I am looking at maybe 10 mph without flaps on touch down and about a 20ft role out. Now I have only one flight on her. But will get her out again soon. I Lovvvvve it

Guys, I just got my nosegear from Darrell.

WOW WOW

this is a work of art!

Im totally impressed. The wheel and tire just set it all off. I almost don't want to put any wheel pants on mine.

Default Here's how it looks on the big Cessna

Notice that the vertical strut sticks through the tank box, meaning that the tank needs to be moved back about 4 inches.

Also note that I forgot to install the retainer on the steering rod!

Again, like the others said, a work of art.

Pettit, looks good, but man you should have gotten the machined wheel and tire from Darrell as well, it really sets it off!

Default Wheel, etc

Yes, I know, but most of it just gets hidden under that wheel pant anyway.

Maybe next time.

BTW, the review is scheduled for publication in the November or December 2003 issue of the magazine.

Also, this particular plane may be "available"...

Steve,

Yours will go out tomorrow. We have been swamped with
orders for this and many of our other designs. I have one
set aside for you. We are trying to catch up.
