TUCANO 60 electric conversion
Please excuse my spelling and typing in this forum:
I recently bought a TUCANO 60 ARF with flaps and mechanical retracts. the directions suggest for nitro or gas but from a video i have seen with the same aircraft it can be put to electric..
my question is.. what is the best setup for the aircraft. i want enough power for vertical climbs and i would like to have a cushin part of it as to make sure the battery is big enough to use all that power incase the ESC wants to pull more amps then it says it will.. i want to prevent the battery from puffin as good as possible..
some of my ideas are to put Hiteh or futaba servos in the aircraft... im runnin a futaba 9c super Tx.
whats the best thing i can do for the plane?? its a plane im going to keep for a very long time.. Hope somebody can help me.
Thank you,
jerry

Mine should arrive today, however I have not gone the electric version! I'll either run a OS/Magnum 91 4-stroke or I have a RCV 90SP!
I'll be posting a build thread in the Warbird Section!

I had the Nitromodels Tucano and used a Eflite Power 90 in mine. I don't know if the WM one is the same size, but it flew great and fast. I would go with as large a motor as you can fit in the plane. It likes to go fast

I got my Tucano today (White/Orange). I am always impressed with the level of completeness with the W.M. ARF's!
I got mine from www.hobbyzone.com free shipping and I just got an email for 10% off my next order. If Nitroplane's doesn't get their next boat load of planes specifically thier Tucano, I just may have to use that Coupon and get another Tucano, this time the Blue one!

Hi Mimoore:
How is the electric conversion coming along? Does this model have a hatch or do you have to take the wing off to change the batteries?

Hello,
I'm not dong a a electric conversion. The plane is set up for a 91 four stroke. There are no hatches. I've seen on Tucano for sale here in the Market, because the owner wanted to to a electric conversion, but said he would have to remove the wing to access the batteries.
My suggestion is to try an modify the canopy, to see if you could replace your batteries that way!
I'm going glow!
