exceed f-35 vibration issue
I just receive the f-35 from exceed rc and before I start to put the plane together and tryed the motor....
Surprise, about 1/3 trottle the ducted fan starts to vibrate badly, about 90% trottle the vibration stops and the fan get a clear sound.....
what is that ?????,
does it mean the fan is not well blanced,..........
need help....

RE: exceed f-35 vibration issue
Could be the motor or the blade take out the fan check the screws sometimes they get loose. They even come that way from the factory sometimes check the set screw under the blade if you can get it off. the blade that is. Lastly you can run the motor with a thin piece of sandpaper between the fanblade and the shroud duct whatever you want to call it. This will even out the ends of the blades so they are all the same length. Run the motor at just enough throttle to not stall it when it strikes the paper.

RE: exceed f-35 vibration issue
I opened the trap to access the fan and found a little arc buffed where the fan as touch the cylinder.
Guess it's not a big issu, it look like the screw of the fan is a little bite on one side of the fan.
I will unscrew the fan and center the srew with the edf

I think a Top Flite prop balancer would be $22.00 well spent. Yes, it will balance spinning things other than propellers.

Yes, like a boat prop. You have to balance that prop. But first you can try this as it was mentioned above. Get some fine sandpaper and place it in the shroud below the blades. Turn the blades by hand. This should sand down the blades enough so that they no longer hit the shroud.
Also, check the CG before you maiden her. Mine was tail heavy out of the box. Keep your low rates with very little travel. It's touchy. GL

Damn, guys i did what you said i need to do to the fan. Sand paper the tips of the fan blade and try the fan
********, this is not the fan tip the problem, this the fan itself, it has a wooble that cause the fan to hit the shroud at hight rpm.......
And the screw fan, is it possible to take it off....to rescew the fan oin order to not cause that wooble in the spin fan.....
simon
Sorry my english sucks

The fan tips are purposely designed to almost touch the shroud for best airflow.
As the fan speeds up the fan tips splay out, causing them to rub against the shroud.
You need to fix this by sanding the tips.
Wobble is due to one or more of the following: a slight unbalance, a loose motor retainer screw, or a loose fan retainer screw.
Yes you can remove the fan screw, etc and put it back on.
That is how I balanced mine out and sanded the tips.

Heh, that is a different question but a good one!
It's actually quite simple...
Stick a wooden dowel or something down the EDF to prevent the blades from turning.
Then use an "Offset screwdriver" to turn the screw.

After you've removed the fan drill a small hole on the shroud at the point where the grub screw is, that retains the fan retainer/coupler.
Then you can remove or re-install the fan retainer/coupler using a Hex key.

I did what you said but the screw held in place and the fan(blades) were turning. I mean when i was trying to unscrew the fan can turn hardly, but it can turn, this way i cannot unscrew the fan.

Yeah, you really have to pull at it. It's tight. But be carefully, the shroud is glued and will come off. On the other hand, you could remove the shroud, which would make the entire process easier. Then just glue it back down with 6 min epoxy.

RE: exceed f-35 vibration issue
After I remove the screw, mine just pull straight out.
You have to rock them back and forth a little to get the process started, but once it starts the fan pops out easily.
