OS .18 crankshaft too long
I have an OS 18 Tz-tx that I want to install in my Mugen mst-1. It seems that the crankshaft is too long to fit the car, there is a big gap between the flywheel and the clutchnut when the the nut is fully tightened. Do i have to cut my crankshaft in order to make it fit? If so, how is this done without ruining anything? Thanks.

RE: OS .18 crankshaft too long
To custom-fit the engine to your flywheel/clutch assembly, you may have to trim it. You can use a high-speed cutoff wheel. Put the engine inside of a plastic bag, and then push the crank through the side of the bag. You now have the engine protected against the metal dust generated when grinding. Make sure you keep it cool, or the crank can lose its hardness if it gets too hot.
This, of course, is performed at your own risk, and will likely void any warranty on the engine.
