Well, let's continue the discussion, but remain on topic.
This is the best looking Hybrid imo. GM's claiming 230mpg using the EPA's test. They're really stirring up a controversy. How is efficiency going to be calculated for electrics and hybrids?

Agreed LB, it's going to be interesting to see what happens with the electric cars and all the power plants. But even more interesting to see what happens with battery technology now that it's making its way into full size cars. I imagine it won't be long and we'll have some major advancements in battery technology. Even more than lithium batts. It sure would be nice to no longer have to buy a bunch of AA alkaline batteries for all the remotes and other miscellaneous things in my house every few months. Battery powered cars might last in the city, but there's no way I could ever own one. I need to know I can go cross-country reliably if I ever had to.

I think I heard it can get 230mpg for about 50 miles...probably until something breaks. And the commercials on youtube for it...with the fricking annoying smily plug.
And I think for measuring MPG for electrics, they could calculate how much pollutions comes from getting the electricity and how much the car uses...
As for good looking cars, I think i woul
d have to say all Astons DB7 and later plus the DB4, 5 and 6. And maybe a couple others I haven't seen pic's of. But if I were going to get one, I would probably get the V8 Vantage Roadster. But then theres the DB9 and DBS. But from the Top Gear review of the V8 Roadster (I know, Top Gear isn't always the best for getting REAL info) it sounded like a really good car, and making it a convertibly didn't hurt performance too much.

ORIGINAL: AutoXMan
The new engine is more efficient, just happens to be more powerful also. Take the turbos away and you get better fuel mileage. Lower power = more efficient.

Basically look at the BMW site for the same engine but with different no. of turbos : http://www.bmw.co.uk/bmwuk/pricesand...-bmwuk,00.html
If you look at the 30d and 35d which is the twin turbo is produces less CO2, and the same MPG and is much faster. It must be that the engine has to work less hard to get where it wants to go.
I actually own the M Sport (which is further down the list) but the reason that it has less MPG is that it comes standard with 19-20 inch alloys and hydraulic boot and other stuff so its heavier than the 3.0d M sport

I don't like the color on that one, but I had a poster of the Nomad on my wall when I was a kid.

There is only on of them in the world. It was raffled off to the members of Viper Club of America.

Im kinda loving Astons right now..not sure why, there just so cool and god looking. Not really sure why I like them so much more than Maseratis and Lamborghinis and Ferraris. I guess there just not all 'flash' and I could see myself living with one. Porsches seem to common, Lambos seem too crazy and it would be hell driving around small one way streets and over bumpy roads. I can't really describe why there so cool, but I can say why there so good looking. (well, not really, but look at some pictures of them!)
Latest Aston Martin find would be the DBR1
You know, Carroll Shelby drove on in the (60's) at Le Mans.
some other old astons

haven't seen this one before interestingly enough, just saw it and WOW. Amazing proportion and style, really gorgeous.
It's a 1952 Buick Skylark, on ebay for $200k. Something I'd LOVE to own but that's a little steep. If I were to spend $200k on a car though, I'd get something else though. \
