I don't know if anyone here (Americans) have ever had a proper ''Fry Up'' ala UK style.....it is one of the most absolutely stunning meals to eat...especially if you're hung over and starving

The eggs are fried in the bacon fat, the tomatoes are also fried in the bacon fat....the sausages are fried in the bacon fat....the mushrooms are fried in the bacon fat....and the bread....not toasted....also fried in the bacon fat. Let's not even mention the black pudding...[&:]

Bout the only thing not fried in bacon fat......the baked beans...

Excuse me.....I need to go make myself a fry up...
sounds like a tasty way to commit suicide
You can hear the artteries hardening from a mile away...[:-]

Actually didn't make a fry up last night. Had blackened chicken bacon cheese burgers instead. Read the cooking thread for the recipe...

This is what's got me going lately......and I can't wait

although I highly doubt they'll have a 'real' double bacon burger over here....if they do, it'll be beef bacon [&o]...and I don't even waste my time on beef bacon.

wendy's is the only fast food joint that i dont feel bad eating. great beef and fresh vegtibles. according to my uncle who helps manage a slaughterhouse (tasty name eh?) from worst to best meat purchases-

taco bell, arby's, burger king, mc-d's, wendy's- he said taco bell buys dog-food level beef.

I can't believe this thread is still going.

I've been traveling in Asia and it's been a while since I've eaten bacon. I'm in New Delhi right now so I'm sure I could find some, but earlier I was in the UAE where obviously it would have been harder to find.

Haha I know, next time I'm there I'll get in touch with you. Just had 2 very busy days with family. It's a part of the world I wouldn't mind exploring more though. Impressive city though, but it does feel a bit "fake" if you know what I mean. Sorta like one big resort and mall on steroids without much actual culture. Unique place though, considering that just 60 years ago it was a desert village and today it rivals any major city in the world in terms of quality of life and amenities. Only other place like that I can think of is Singapore, where post WWII it was a pirate infested hive of prostitution and organized crime and now it's a first world city state with a booming economy.

Demographically the UAE is pretty unique too, one of the few countries where there are far more foreigners than natives.

Out of curiosity, what brought you out there? working for a company that put you there? My cousin manages the Middle East for Citigroup so that's how he got there.

We have this Sub joint here called Miami Subs. I had a huge Kaiser breakfast sandwich today. Had scrambled eggs, white cheddar melted cheese, and mounds of crumbled bacon. Man was it good.

Breakfast this morning....b-fast burrito!!

Scrambled eggs, refried beans, cheese, salsa and bacon...all wrapped up in a big flour tortilla. Best Mexican food in Dubai...from my kitchen.

Ishan, I came to Dubai in '92 while I was on a world tour as a nightclub DJ. I'd been on the road traveling the US, Europe and Middle East for about 7 years. After my contract finished here, the company said they'd send me home and may call me back in 6 months or I could stay in Dubai and find my own way. It was a completely different place back then. A lot of opportunities for smart people. So that's what I did. In the past 18 years here, met the wife, now have an 11 year old son, an 8 year old girl, two cars and a cat....

Oh just had another Applewood smoked bacon single burger combo yesterday! Man, sure doesn't help that a Wendy's sits right beside the bank I go to every day.[&o] Depending on which way the winds are blowin, you get that fabulous deep frier smell straight in your face.[sm=surprised.gif]

spam is good and gross at the same time. hard to explain, like meat with the texture of a firm cheese.

on the phone before i left work i asked "whats for dinner" i got "i m...." the phone went dead. so i was pondering what it could be, and when i walk through the door... heaven behold a plate heaping with 2lbs of bacon. BLT NIGHT!!!
