OMP Yak 55sp
been flying OMP's yak sense the Toledo show, very nice flying plane!
i have a question to anyone that has one of these planes in the yellow, black and red.
has anyone had trouble with the rounded part of the canopy, just behind the cowl where it is painted black, it warp after the sun has heated it up.this happen on the first day that i flew it,but it was close to 90 that day with all kinds of sun hitting it.
i probably will just get another canopy from OMP and paint the turtle deck yellow so it dosen't get so hot in the sun.

Black really absorbs the sun and will get very hot in the open sun. ALso the plastic canopies will act like a greenhouse and cook the inside. Most giant scale flyers and IMACers will use a cover over the canopies while the planes are sitting in the sun. Even when I go out to the field for fun I use a cover, throw a towel over the canopy, or keep it under a tent. Might be possible to reshape yours with a little care. I'm no expert trying that though.
