Balsa in ABC
I still need a receiver for my ABC, and was unable to scrounge one up here (still interested, if you have one) (Critter hunter, you still got some?). So I found a parkzone setup for sale from a Stryker that was upgraded, but then.. what to do with the servos? They are not mounted on the rcvr pcb like in the aerobirds. Should I try using a piece of balsa to make a servo-holding frame, or is there a better material?
Tnx.

RE: Balsa in ABC
Follow up:
Balsa seemed too flexible, so I cut a circuit board (blank, prototyping board with pre-drilled holes on a grid) and it worked out fine. On the first attempt, I managed to crack the pc board while cutting out the servo holes, but on rev. 2 I spaced out the servos so they weren't so close and there was more material between the two holes. Only problem was that the board is thicker than the original receiver's, so it was hard to fit into the mounting bracket at the bottom.

RE: Balsa in ABC
I guess I was tyying too hard to match the original (see "101 Things to Do with a Crashed Parkzone" forum entry, pix #1) .
There are some very creative ideas in the links you showed me. Thanks! I like the foam block servo holding tray. Very light & adds protection.
