edge update
Hey guys, I appreciate the positive comments. I am in the process of getting this plane in kit form. I have an instruction manual with almost 30 pictures of how to construct the plane and full size plans, but they are not for scratch building. I have a verbal committment from one of the manufactures to purchase the rights, but since the deal is not complete I wont say anymore than that right now. If the deal does happen as planned they are gonna kit it immediately and if it goes well probably ARF it soon thereafter. The plane will be in kit form some way this year, if the manufacture deal falls thru, I will do it myself. In fact I sold about 10 kits to get them out for more field testing. The plane is the most capable of any funfly I have flown, better 3D. It is the first funfly I have gotten to truly high alpha knife edge and high alpha roll, torque roll without aileron input and lots of other stuff. I am doing all this on the prototype which I built heavy, it weighed almost 5 pounds, the second I changed a few things and it is gonna weigh 4 pounds with no lightening holes, just a stock build. I really think it could go under 4 pounds without much work. If you are interested in this plane keep my email address and email me from time to time as it is almost ready for the manufacture to sign the dotted line. Once again thanks for the positive comments, it is alot of work and those help to make it more worthwhile. Jeff Williams

"Tiny" modified hovering!
(yea, Bulldogs, Shortman!!)
Here's several pictures sent to me from a fellow in Finnland, I think it was...serious mods on a "Tiny", hovering over a frozen river!! Not bad!! I am currently working on mine, uses the GWS motor off the LiteStick!

Shortman- Extra Special:
The Plane has virtually unlimited performance. With this engine, MACS pipe, and a Duralite battery, This plane has an awesome power/weight ratio. I've only tried High rates once, Let me tell you, Its like watching a combat/hot doggin' video at 2x speed, You gotta be on your toes!!! It goes up- up- and then, UP, almost as fast as it goes down! What a Plane! You should get one

Morris Pen Knife
Just adding my profile to the mix...a Morris Pen Knife with an OS 32. I bypassed the pull-pull rudder for a straight rod. Easy and works well on this tiny plane. Got lots of picts and movies on it at http://www.ncsa.uiuc.edu/Cyberia/peo...pen_knife.html

Yes, an outstanding one...very simple, few parts, and very nice when you are done! In other words, the perfect model...)
Just be sure to build as straight as possible, and follow the instructions carefully. I have a tendency to over-build just a little, a gusset here and there, but then again, I have a tendency to over-fly a little, too!!
Good luck, if you choose it!

Stickit!
I too would like to build a Stickit. I hear they are great to learn to hover on! I went to airflair.com to find that they charge $75 for a kit. (A bit much IMO). If I can find a set of plans, RCM possibly? I would be very happy! Thanks!

Stickit plans
You can buy plans for the Stickit IV, Stickit V, and the Smith Super Special from RC Modeler Magazine's plans service. They cost about $7 each.
Stickit IV.....plan #1095
Stickit V......plan #1121
Smith Super Special......plan #1121
If you still want more proof that YOU need a Stickit....check out my Stickit IV webpage here:

plans
Thanks for the response, guys, and the plan #s, Dave. That looks like a lot of fun and I think I could build one of those with what I already have. What's the difference between the Stickit IV and V?

Dave McD:
I love your site, Very cool story for Stickits!
I may have to get some of those plans! Whats your favorite, The stickit V, or the Super Smith special?
You say you have a 40FP on yours, Does it have unlimited vertical? If I can get away with cheap stuff, that would make it even more desirable Thanks for the info!

Stickit Questions
planecrazy101,
The basic construction of the Stickit IV and V are nearly identical.
The IV uses 4" wide ailerons, the V uses 5" ailerons.
The IV horizontal tail has 2/3 fixed stab, 1/3 elevator. The V has 1/3 fixed stab, 2/3 elevator.
The IV uses internal mounted servo arms, the V uses exposed servo arms.
You can't go wrong with either version for hovering, but the Stickit V can out maneuver the Stickit IV at slow speeds.
