Canopy Cleaning
Whats the best solution to clean a conopy. Mine is a grimy from construction, and I want to clean it up , and smooth out some of the light scratches.
Any input would be appreciated.

RE: Canopy Cleaning
I use windex on my canopies( little to no amonia) & have not experienced any problems. As far as polishing any scratches out, i have used a product you can buy at any motorcycle shop, its called NOVUS. It comes in different grades, made for doing exactly what you are looking to do. I use the red bottle first followed by the blue bottle for great results. I have seen it used on the windscreen of fullsize aircraft, and motorcycles also.....Gene

I also use the aboveproduct that is designed to clean plastic and acrylic. It works great on the plastipane isenglass of boat canvas, too. It is Novus No. 1clean and shine andNovus No. 2 fine scratch remover.

The 2 oz kit should clean hundreds of canopies. You only need a tiny bit.

I use a product similar to what these guys are using which might be easier to locate, it's made by Meguiar's, intending for clear plastic also, You'll find it and similar products at auto parts stores, Pep boys Etc.
I used to use it on the Monokote on my Quikie 500s, a polished plane is faster
