Easy Star Removing Servo
i have a bad servo in my easy star, it seems, and i want to remove it. i have attached a picture. i'm guessing someone savvy will know, from the picture, what kind of glue the professional (that's right) builder used and how to get it out. thanks guys.

RE: Easy Star Removing Servo
If the adhesive is wood glue like elmers, etc you might try water, won't hurt a bad servo. If it is epoxy you will probably have to cut it out, I don't think there is a solvent that would not attack the foam. Normally heat applied to epoxy will soften it enough to take apart but here again the heat will get the foam.
If you cut it out, you can fill any void you create with epoxy or cut small foam pcs to splice in using epoxy or foam CA.
Good luck.

RE: Easy Star Removing Servo
thanks. i'll try water, i already tried alcohol. if no results, i'm either going to cut, and then paste in foam to fill the hole, or, buy a new fuselage for $26, if i can get the wings and tail off this one!

Use a hobby knife and cut around the edges of the servo, then twist the servo back and forth to break it loose on the bottom. Water will not work[:@] all you will do is soak the foam. you cut a s close to the servo as you can and fram the opening. The servos are molded into the foam when manufactured

RE: Easy Star Removing Servo
Just yank it out. You may lose some surface foam, but nothing you can't fix. I replaced my EZ servo with sall amounts of gorilla glue. Put the new servo in and then use a small stick or toothpick to add a little gorilla around the base of the servo.
