What is the mylar material used in hinges?
I am making a product that needs a small washer that seals a low air pressure (10 psi) housing using a 4-40 screw. The fuzzy hinge material has proven to be a good material due to the small size of the hole and sealing surface less than 0.2 in diameter. I am looking for a supplier or product name. I also have a call into a couple of hinge makers.
Thanks for the help in advance

Chris,
In the industry it's referred to as DMD, because it's a laminate of dacron, mylar, and dacron. I believe it was developed as an insulation for electrical applications. If you don't have any luck, PM me and I might be able to put you in touch with someone who might could help. Greg
