How to make a coiled tube
Any ideas, hints, tips, suppliers for making a 'coil' of brass/ali tube. I would like the coil reasonably 'tight' say about 10mm diameter. Tube would be similar to fuel tank brass tube size. Reason: pre-heater for smoke system.
Thanks

I've heard (but never tried it) that if you put a line about the same size as the i.d. of the tubing from a yard trimmer inside the tubing, it can be bent, then the plastic line pulled out. It might be worth a try. Dzl

It's EASY!
Go to your local Auto Parts Store. They sell 1/8" COPPER tubing. This stuff bends like a dream! And it's CHEAP (About 50 cents a foot) I use it in all of my smoke applications, and many times I use it instead of the brass that comes with fuel tanks. You can run it all the way from the tank, through the firewall, to the engine. (No more split hoses spilling fuel in the tank compartment!)

another old trick is to pack the tube with fine sand before wrapping it around a mandrel. Once it's suitable, just pour the sand out. ( a thorough flush would be prudent).
I am told that brass tubing is annealed differently than steel:
Use a propane burner to get the brass red hot, then toss it in a pail of water. This leaves you with soft brass, but the same technique would make brittle steel.
